Bookrunner is a narrative adventure game in which you play as Etienne Quest, a writer who abandoned his pen and stole it, possessing the ability to sneak into the world of books. Use this power to travel back and forth between the real world and the book world, stealing legendary items such as "Thor's Hammer" and "The Sword in the Stone" to restore your ability to write.
Once-acclaimed author Étienne Quist lost the ability to write after being found guilty of an unspeakable crime. A crime boss approaches Etienne with a dubious deal that could free him. All Etienne needs to do is to find and steal many legendary items from books. Dive into the unique book worlds and face the unique rules and challenges in each world. If anyone stands in your way of stealing an artifact, be prepared to persuade, trick, or even fight them.
Each journey will take you to a new world: a medieval prison, snow-capped mountains, futuristic spaceships, etc. Get to know the inhabitants of each book and use them to accomplish your goals - after all, they're not just fictional characters... right? On your journey, you're not alone: you'll meet a mysterious, caged character who becomes your partner in crime and your most trusted advisor.
Your wisdom will be tested by unique puzzles. Think outside the box, travel freely between fiction and reality, collect valuable items, and overcome obstacles that stand in front of you. Using the mysterious power of ink, you can also manipulate items in the book and unlock new paths to explore.
