According to Reuters, Alibaba Group President Michael Evans said at a technology conference in Paris yesterday that Alibaba will expand its business presence in Europe and launch a European version of the Tmall platform.
Evans said: “What we will focus more on in the future is building a local business (in Europe), so you will see China’s Tmall appearing in Europe as well, which means we will be in the local market for local brands and local customers. Provide services.”
Evans also said that Alibaba has started a pilot project in Spain and plans to expand it throughout Europe, but he did not disclose the specific content of the project.
In March this year, Alibaba Group split and reorganized the company's business and established six major business groups and multiple business companies: Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, Taobao Tmall Commerce, Local Life, International Digital Commerce, Cainiao, and Big Entertainment.
