Space Invaders: Global Defense is a spin-off of the classic arcade game Space Invaders, developed in partnership between Google and TAITO, the Japanese company behind it (now owned by Square Enix). Developed using Google tools such as ARCore and the newly announced Geospatial Creator, the game allows Space Invaders' stylish aliens to fly in the real world.

The gameplay is very simple. Players need to find UFOs and shoot them down in the context of the city game. Based on screenshots from the Google Play listing, it looks like the game will also feature some more traditional non-AR gaming components.
