WWII Battle Tanks: T-34 vs. Tiger takes place during “Operation Bagration” which was a great offensive executed by the Red Army from June 22 till August 29, 1944 with the goal to recapture the Belorussian capital Minsk. In the end the Red Army managed to do much more than that, making the operation not only decisive for the outcome of WWII but also the most costly battle for the Germans with the highest rate of casualties since 1916 including the complete destruction of Heeresgruppe Mitte and three of its component armies.
