openmeetings open source video conferencing system provides video conferencing, instant messaging, whiteboarding, collaborative document editing and other component software tools. It uses Media Server's API functions for remote and streaming Kurento.

OpenMeetings is a multi-language customizable video conferencing and collaboration system. It supports audio, video, and allows you to view each attendee's desktop. OpenMeetings also includes a whiteboard through which pictures and graffiti in various formats can be imported.

There are four options for using OpenMeetings audio/video features that you can select during a meeting.

Plus, you can change the video/audio quality, select multiple camera resolutions (4:3, 16:9, or 3:2), and choose an input device.

Meeting recording and screen sharing

Recorded meetings include everything, including recorded sound from all audio streams, exactly as you see them in the meeting.

Recorded sessions can be downloaded as AVI/FLV files.

Each meeting room has an advanced File-Explorer, a drag-and-drop interface for managing uploaded files, including the possibility to create a document tree using folders.

Private and public drives in File-Explorer. File-Explorer has two different views, one is Private Drive and the other is Public Drive. A dedicated drive always contains the same files. These files are only visible to the currently logged in user. Public drives are not tied to users, but to meeting rooms. All users in the meeting room can access the public drive.

Multi whiteboard and chat

In Multi whiteboard, you can add new whiteboard instances, each of which can contain all tools and documents.

Save the whiteboard. You can save each whiteboard instance as a file. The file is located in File-Explorer and can again be dragged and dropped onto the whiteboard and organized like any other document, image or folder.

Full-fit does rescale the document on the screen so that it is 100% viewable on all screens, regardless of the screen resolution used by different users.

User and room management

You can manage users and multiple organizations within a single OpenMeetings instance. You can also create users that can only be accessed through the SOAP-API.

MyRooms section. By default, each user has 2 private rooms, which are always accessible only to that user. There are buttons to access these rooms from the dashboard.

You can assign meeting rooms to all users or assign them only to specific user groups.

Private message center

Send messages to users and organize them in folders. You can reserve a meeting room by sending a private message. Booked events will automatically appear in your and your attendees' calendars, and changes to the event will populate to all users who booked the event.

User Contacts, you can search for users and add them to your contacts. You can even grant them access to your calendar.

Plan meetings using the integrated calendar

Plan your meeting and invite attendees from OpenMeetings or External.

Invited attendees will receive an email with meeting details and a link to the meeting room with a secure hash.
