Indeed Job Postings Index
This repository houses the data powering the Indeed Hiring Lab's Job Postings Index data product. The data is updated daily and refreshed weekly.
Methodology
This repository contains percentage change in seasonally adjusted job postings since February 1, 2020, using a seven-day trailing average. February 1, 2020, is our pre-pandemic baseline. A reading of 101 indicates that the overall level of job postings is 1% higher than the level on February 1, 2020.
1. Seasonal Adjustment: Each series is seasonally adjusted based on historical patterns observed in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
2. Separate Adjustment: Seasonal adjustment is performed individually for each series, including the national trend, occupational sectors, and sub-national geographies.
3. Methodology Update: This new methodology was adopted in January 2021. Historical numbers have been revised and may differ from originally reported values.
The occupational sectors in our data are an Indeed categorization based on normalized job titles. A list of these sectors with sample job titles is accessible in this repository (see sector-job-title-examples.csv).
