Microsoft, in its ongoing effort to improve interoperability, has released a new Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) driver. All SQL Server users can download the SQL Server JDBC Driver 2.0 for free and access SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, and SQL Server 2008 from any Java application, application server, or Java-enabled applet. This is a Type 4 JDBC driver that provides database connectivity through the standard JDBC application programming interface (API) available in Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5.
This version of the JDBC driver is compatible with JDBC 4.0 and runs on Java Development Kit (JDK) version 5.0 or later. It has been tested against all major application servers including BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere and JBoss.
