First Cohort prospectors have secured initial mining licenses for over 64 square kilometers of hand-crafted terrain. These terrains are filled with many hidden corners, resources for you to mine, and biomes to explore. Use the resources around you to survive: you can cut down every tree and mine every ore.
Technology and R&D
Master three separate technology trees: Planetary Technology, Player Talents, and Orbital Workshop.
Use the planet's resources to craft tools, buildings, and machinery to protect yourself and help you complete your mission. Gain experience on the planet's surface, develop unique skills and upgrade core talents, then return to orbit with rare alien materials and advanced technology. Choose the skills you want to develop and the technology you want to use on your next exploration to help you complete tasks faster, go further, automate production, or improve your odds of survival. Every decision matters.
Escape in time
Time is limited on Icarus, so keep an eye on it and use every second wisely.
Choose from hours, days or weeks of exploration. Please note that if you do not return to the spacecraft on time to rendezvous with the orbiting space station, you will have no choice but to ask for help. Or you could take your time and build a permanent planetary outpost. Each prospect has a clear goal and duration, but how you overcome the challenges...will be up to you.
