Diving does not require any prerequisite tasks. As long as you light up the first statue of Fontaine, you can have the diving function.
It is worth mentioning that only the underwater area in Fontaine can be dived, and the underwater areas in other countries do not have diving functions.
How to get to Fontaine
Here’s how to get to Fontaine’s first statue:
After the 4.0 version update, if the traveler has completed the Demon God quest in the Mondstadt area, a teleportation anchor point in Xumi's "Puluoji" will be automatically unlocked, and everyone can use it to quickly travel to the vicinity of Fontaine.
This demon mission refers to the three-act mission in the prologue pictured below. Most players have basically completed it.
The automatically unlocked anchor point is located in the upper right corner of Xumi. You can teleport directly there and fly to a wave anchor point under the beach. Use the wave boat to quickly reach Fontaine's first port.
After arriving at the port, we can take the elevator in the middle to open the statue.
Next, go to the statue in the main city:
After opening the first statue, look behind you and you will see a ship. After talking to the captain, you can take the observation boat to the main city of Fontaine.
PS: This observation boat moves relatively slowly. If you can’t wait, you can get on the Double Wind lineup and run along the waterway by yourself.
After arriving in the main city, there will be a water channel guide next to you. Take the elevator to the fourth floor. Walk forward and you will see the main city statue.
There is an NPC next to the statue in the main city. It is recommended to ask him to take over the task. He will take us diving to familiarize ourselves with the environment.
