There are three branches of leatherworking profession, namely dragon scale leatherworking, elemental leatherworking and tribal leatherworking. Among them, the dragon scale type makes mail armor, which is more suitable for shamans and hunters after level 40. The elemental system makes leather armor, which is mostly suitable for thieves and hunters. Tribal leatherworking is aimed at the Druid profession. You can only choose one of the three branches, not both.
The conditions for starting the tasks in these three branches require 255 points of leatherworking skills and a character level of about 45. Of course, you can also do it at a higher level.
1. Dragon scale leathermaking.
The basic raw materials are various dragon scales, starting from the lowest dragon scales, to green dragon scales, red dragon scales, blue dragon scales, black dragon scales, and shiny colorful dragon scales. The first three types can be easily peeled off in the wild, and in the Sunken Temple copy, you have reached the paradise of dragon scales. There are relatively few black dragon scales, and they are more concentrated in the Black Stone Tower. The shiny colorful dragon scales can only be peeled off in the Black Stone Tower. With these raw materials, dragon scale leatherworking can make dragon scale sets of various colors. If you need to build a fire kang in the early stage, it is more appropriate to choose dragon scale leather making.
Mission location:
Alliance: Find Dragonscale Leatherworker Peter Garin by a tent campfire east of Mount Desolation in Azshara. (I strongly suspect that he is wearing a dragon scale suit, a red dragon suit?)
Alliance Master Dragonscale Leatherworker
Horde: In the Badlands (east of the map, close to the back door of Uldaman), Master Dragonscale Leatherworker Sokraf Dragoneye (62.57) is he wearing a green dragon suit? .
Master Dragonscale Leatherworker of the Horde
Accept the task [55] Dragon Scale Leatherworking. The task requires: 2 hardened scorpion shell breastplates, 2 hardened scorpion shell gloves, and 10 dragon scales.
For these two recipes, first go to the auction house to check if there are any cheap ones. If you can't make them yourself, go to them.
Pattern: Hardened Scorpion Shell Breastplate, dropped by Wasteland Bandits in Tanaris, drop rate 5.92%
Pattern: Hardened Scorpion Shell Gloves, dropped by Wasteland Thieves in Tanaris, with a drop rate of 6.1%.
Recommended places to collect materials:
Dragon Scale: Dragonites around level 43-45 in Dustwallow Swamp and Swamp of Sorrows, Lethro Canyon in the Badlands, dragons in the Burning Steppes, etc. Always go to the auction house to search for cheap dragon scales.
Scorpion Shell: The scorpions in Tanaris and the scorpions in the Uldaman dungeon.
2. Elemental Leatherworking.
As soon as you hear the name, you can tell that the main raw materials for elemental leather making are mostly elemental items, such as air essence, water essence, etc. Although the demand for each formula is not large, the price is astonishing due to the limited drop probability. Its products are mainly leather armors that increase agility and critical hit rate, and are basically exclusive products for thieves. In the later stage, you can learn the four-piece thunderstorm set, the melting helmet, and the transfiguration cloak.
Mission location:
Alliance: Find Sarah Tanney at the Leatherworker's Camp near the Slag Dig in Searing Gorge (63.75).

Horde: Find a tauren named Broome Whitehoof (95.59) on the hillside near the intersection of Stromgarde in the Arathi Highlands.
Arathi Highlands
Accept the task [55] Elemental Leatherworking. The mission requires: 2 Hearts of Fire, 2 Orbs of Pure Water, 2 Cores of Earth, and 2 Breaths of Wind.
These materials have a chance to drop when you fight elemental monsters during leveling. You can also buy it directly from the auction house. Except for the Heart of Flame, the other prices should not be expensive. Fire elements have a chance of dropping the Heart of Fire, such as the Western Forbidden Circle in Arathi Highlands, Fire Plume Mountain in Un'Goro Crater, Searing Canyon, Blackrock Abyss dungeon, and the raid's Molten Core.
3. Tribal leatherworking.
In the Classic version, tribal leatherworking is a good branch of leatherworking. Although dragon scales and elemental leathercrafting can create a lot of magic resistance equipment, the demand is not so obvious after the first stage of Classic version.
The Devilsaur leather gloves and Devilsaur leather leggings made by tribal leatherworking are suitable for most output professions such as berserkers, thieves, and hunters. The 2% hit rate provided by the Devilsaur suit is very precious in the classic version. There is also the Wild Skin, which is the best cloak for the healing profession. Many healers wear it to Blackwing Lair BWL without changing it. If you plan to make some money from leatherworking, tribal leatherworking is better.
The task of tribal leatherworking is much more complicated than the other two branches. It has a prerequisite task.
Materials that need to be prepared in advance:
▶ 200+ pieces of thick leather, prepare 6 thick armor pieces, 2 night headbands, 2 night jackets, 2 night shorts, and 2 night boots in advance.
