In addition to generally not configuring space according to the written parameters, there are also some lesser-known ways of cheating:
Basic parameters
This is the oldest deception method. It is said to limit the CPU to 10%, but the actual limit is 5%. That is, the target object is different from the actual one, and the supported components are not complete. Those who know a little bit about the spatial quality of this kind of deception will generally feel that it is "poor" obviously.
"overbooked"
To put it simply, if a server is 100G, if it is sold at 1G, it can be sold to 100 people. But it is impossible for all 100 to use up 1G, so the space provider put 50 more stations in it (the space has space, so it can naturally be accommodated). Everyone thinks that their own space is 1G in size, but this may not be the case in reality; of course, when it is almost full, the space provider will make flexible adjustments. But this kind of "overselling" undoubtedly reduces the cost of space: Originally, a 100G server could only be sold to 100 people, but it was actually sold to 150 people. Costs are reduced in disguise, making prices cheaper and profits higher.
"cutting"
This is my own name for this behavior, which is most common in foreign spaces. Taking the famous Godaddy space as an example, 150G space is about more than 400 yuan (very cheap), and it can build unlimited websites. So someone came up with this idea early on, selling a 150G space, cutting it into 1G and selling it per site. If 1G costs 100 yuan, you can earn 15,000 yuan here (it seems really HI). However, those who buy this cutting product only have FTP at most, no back-end management, customer service and legal protection; if they want to bind a domain name, they have to find the seller. If the seller wants to close your site, just close it. It’s that simple.
VPS
VPS (Virtual Private Server) technology is a high-quality service that divides a server into multiple isolated virtual private servers. The operation and management of each VPS are exactly the same as an independent host. Each VPS can be assigned an independent public IP address, independent operating system, independent large space, independent memory, independent CPU resources, independent execution programs, independent system configuration, etc. In addition to being able to allocate multiple virtual hosts and unlimited corporate mailboxes, users also have independent server functions. They can install programs by themselves and restart the server independently.
VPS itself is a good thing, but people who cheat will not give you such good things. Since VPS is a virtual machine, its underlying layer is still a server. At the beginning, I used a foreign VPS for 23ting.com, and the results are self-evident! We can imagine a virtual optical drive on our computer, which can replace the optical disc. If you run several virtual optical drives, the computer will still be overwhelmed. If there are multiple VPS on a server, the server will always be overwhelmed. The parameters of VPS are virtual, making it easier to cheat: just like the space size, it still depends on the hard drive size of the server. The actual hard drive is only 100G. It can give you 100G virtually, but there is more than one VPS on the server. If this thing becomes virtual, the probe can't check it, so it's just waiting to be fooled.
Of course, there is also a VPS that operates with integrity. Who is it? I don’t know, I haven’t seen it anyway.
Sharing
Sharing means that several people use a larger space together, and the price is favorable if you buy more space (relatively, the larger the space, the cheaper the price); in addition to the possibility of encountering the problem of "basic parameters" being deceived, the biggest trouble is being Drag - As long as there is a violation, you may be implicated; if there is a resource-hungry person, your site access may be affected. Of course, this is not an IDC problem; it’s just that some IDCs will deceive the shared space into an independent space, just like the "cutting" mentioned above, which is actually a manifestation of selling the shared room sheets.
As a result, the deceiver charges more money, and the deceived person can only gamble on his own luck: whether the space can still be used.
