Many "City Skylines 2" players have encountered problems with the tutorials and strategies for using "City Skylines 2" Paradox Mods in the game. This problem has caused everyone to be unable to continue the game, causing trouble to the players. In order to help players solve this problem, the editor finally found a solution after reviewing a lot of information. Now let’s get straight to the point without any more nonsense.
Dear mayors!
The news that "Cities: Skylines 2" will use Paradox Mods to share modules has sparked heated discussions. We're excited to see you're as passionate about mods as we are! We can understand that this change will raise questions. This developer blog is intended to answer questions and hopefully help you adapt to the new platform.
First and foremost: Paradox Mods is our own modding system, available for a variety of platforms. We developed this platform initially to enable the Xbox version of Cities: Skylines to support mods. The platform has changed a lot since then, both in terms of functionality and scale: we now offer mods for over a dozen games!
Paradox has carefully considered that mods are free content produced by the community and should always remain that way. We will always adhere to this view. Mods have always been one of the most effective ways for the community to change their games, and we never want to hinder this creativity.
Considering the extensive use of mods in Cities: Skyrim, and our desire to make mods more numerous and more accessible, we have long been committed to developing and optimizing the many existing features of Paradox Mods, as well as adding new features to Cities: Skyrim. Useful new features for the Line 2 community. Let us show you the features!
Normally, if you have a Paradox account, you can subscribe to the mod. After subscribing, the module will be automatically downloaded and installed on your computer. Afterwards, if there is an update to the module, it will be updated automatically. Subscriptions can be synced across platforms (Steam, Windows Store, Playstation, Xbox, etc.), which means you can use the same mod configuration no matter which platform you play on. Please note, however, that code mods may not be enabled on the console!
In-game, the mod information view might look like this.
In order to facilitate communication and discussion between users and creators, modules can be linked to forum topics. This way, all the features available on the Paradox forum can be used when discussing mods. Pins, topics, features planned to be added in the future, and various active conversations can all have their own exclusive posts.
Since some mods may only support a specific version or versions of the game, Paradox Mods allow mod authors to tell players which version of the game the mod was made for. Of course, Paradox Mods won't prevent you from playing with "incompatible" mods, but it will remind you when you try to do so!
Many of our games undergo significant changes when most major DLC and/or free updates are released, and some users prefer to play on older versions, so Paradox Mods also supports downloading earlier versions of mods. This way you can play with mods designed for earlier versions. This means that if for some reason you don't want to use the latest version of a mod, you can swap back to an earlier version. The version confirmation feature mentioned in the previous paragraph will also trigger if you accidentally (or intentionally) select a mod that is incompatible with your version of the game.
Some modules require other modules to function (such as the Harmony module in the first generation), require other modules as decoration (such as a tree or a prop), or require other modules to play tricks ("Ability to Read" , looking at you), our Paradox Mods system also supports this affiliation. If you subscribe to a mod with an affiliation, you can choose to automatically subscribe to all related mods.
