In Windows 7 and Vista systems, when you download the update program but have not installed it yet, if you need to restart the machine for something more important, the system will always ask you "Do you want to install and update?" If you choose to install it, you may have to wait a long time for the system to restart, which delays more important things.
It is actually easy to solve this problem. Just block this redundant prompt from the Vista system. Run the Group Policy Editor, expand "User Configuration→Administrative Modules→Windows Update" (Figure 1), double-click "Do not display 'Do you want to install and update' in the 'Close Windows' dialog box" in the right window.

Then the system will pop up the interface shown in Figure 2, click "Enabled", and finally click the "OK" button to save the settings.

Tips:
Updates downloaded by the system are stored in the system directory and will not be lost due to this setting. The user can still choose to install the downloaded update program after entering the system next time.
After the settings are completed, when users encounter similar situations again, they will not delay other more important things because of installing updates.
