I have been managing the website for some time. It is a small shopping website, so the promotion methods are relatively limited, so I always learn from other people’s experiences on the webmaster website. In the process of managing the website, many confusions have been answered on the webmaster website. What I hope to share with you today is some experience of website homepage being updated as a snapshot of the website.
First is an introduction to the website itself. The website is a shopping website that purchased ASP code from an Internet company in 2008, and then made some minor changes. Because before graduation, I studied PHP language, so I didn’t dare to make changes to some basic functions of the website, so the overall website layout structure is relatively stable. Later, based on some basic optimization methods learned, the website was basically optimized. I once tried black hat optimization, but the effect was not very obvious, and I was worried that it would be punished by search engines, so I only did it for a short time and then stopped.
Website problem: There was a period of time when the website was not managed, and the website was taken over by colleagues who were not familiar with it. The content of the website is also updated from time to time, and some external links are added. Later, because the relevant person in charge wanted to see quick results, the website was optimized, and according to the optimizer's method, a dual domain name was adopted, and the website's homepage layout was made major adjustments (later I learned that the homepage Major adjustments will affect Baidu's inclusion of the page). When I took over the website, I found that there were some problems with the website: 1. The keyword ranking of the website could not be found in the top 800 search engines. 2. There are many pictures on the website that cannot be displayed properly. 3. There are a large number of dead links in the website. 4. The inclusion status in the two major search engines is very different. 5. And the most important thing: In the first month of re-managing the website, I started to find that the homepage of the website had not been updated for a long time.
Solution:
1. Redefine the content within the META tag to make it consistent with the company's products and adapt to the access habits of the target customer group.
2. Re-save the problematic image to a safe and appropriate network space, and re-place it on the corresponding page.
3. Remove dead links and add new friendly links.
4. Create a new site map and upload it to the website space
5. Many solutions have been tried to solve the problem of website homepage snapshots.
(1) It is recommended that the person in charge stop the domain name with unsatisfactory inclusion status and use a single domain name - after a period of time, the inclusion status of the single domain name returns to normal.
(2) Resubmit the URL to the search engine--but still cannot solve the problem of the website homepage snapshot not being updated.
(3) Add internal and external links - the number of links to the website has increased, but the Baidu snapshot of the website's homepage is still not updated.
(4) Insist on updating website content - the most conventional network management method is to update at least one piece of content every day. After 3 months, in Baidu's latest Baidu snapshot, you can see that the homepage snapshot of the website has finally been updated.
As I write this, you may laugh at me for doing what I do best. Indeed, compared to many webmasters, the last method really has no skills at all. However, precisely because of persistence, the Baidu snapshot of the homepage of the website I managed was updated. The simplest method, if you stick to it, you may gain something.
Because when I encountered the problem that the Baidu snapshot homepage of the website was not updated, I did not search for relevant information, so I wrote this article in the hope that it would be helpful to webmaster friends who encountered this situation.
