When will SP1 of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 be released? It has always been a topic of concern to enterprises and players. Last week, Microsoft announced a public test of SP1, which had previously been in internal testing mode. Although Microsoft has repeatedly stated that it can deploy new systems without waiting for SP1, for users to dare to install the system after seeing SP1 or even SP2 is a habit left by many years of Microsoft software for user software. Today Microsoft released a FAQ on TechNet, clearly stating that SP1 will be released in the first half of 2011. The following is a screenshot:
Last week, Microsoft released a public beta version of SP1. In the previous one to two weeks, Microsoft also released a closed beta version of SP1 to some testers. Microsoft has stated many times that Windows 7 SP1 does not add new features, and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 only adds two virtual features.
In fact, Windows 7 SP1 includes a number of features that are not provided by Microsoft's Windows updates and security patches, but Microsoft officially calls them functional "improvements" rather than new features. These feature "improvements" include more third-party service support, improved HDMI audio device support, and XPS printing support
