As of today, the small website has been open for almost half a year. I have some free time recently, so I decided to perform a major surgery on the blog and experience the situation after the legendary website was revised.
Change the theme
I have used the Z-BLOG program since the beginning of building the website, and I think it is very good. Moreover, it is said that Z-BLOG has innate SEO advantages, so I have never felt that there are any serious flaws. Later, when I came into contact with Wordpress, I discovered that the program I am using now has many unsatisfactory aspects in terms of template themes. My intuitive feeling is that the template themes of Wordpress are more generous and more mature. If it were not for space reasons, I have already changed the program. Recently, I discovered that someone in ZB also imitated a WP inove theme. I didn’t think much about it and just took it. After simple modifications (mainly customizing the Yahei font and color, and changing the background), it was finalized.
This theme of Inove has two biggest advantages: one is simplicity, and the other is the relatively large sidebar. As an independent blog, a concise template theme is very important, it will save a lot of trouble, and the wide side column can display the article title well (for SEO, all my article titles now have a very large number of words).
Remove homepage ads
When I first applied for Google Adsense advertising, I set several principles for myself. The most important one is that advertising is not used to make money. However, it is necessary to place a GG advertisement in an appropriate position, mainly to enhance the user experience. experience. But later I found that some advertisements seriously deviated from the theme of the blog. The pictures were so crude that I couldn't even look past them, and they even mentioned "user experience"! So I decisively removed the advertisements from the homepage, leaving only the sidebar and articles of the article page. Bottom ads. Moreover, the new template has a wider sidebar, so I re-customized the large picture advertisement. At present, I am basically satisfied with the test (although I have seen many people's blog sites without placing advertisements, but I will not remove all advertisements).
It is said that changing the template will also affect the inclusion. I originally did not support this statement, but after yesterday's revision, the first serious situation that occurred was that Google's inclusion stopped. In the past, the GG snapshots of the small site were updated normally. Basically, the articles published yesterday were included the next day, which was very regular. After the revision, I found that GG only updated two previous article snapshots, and the articles published in the past two days were not included. The homepage snapshot has not been updated, and the legendary website revision impact on inclusion has finally appeared; another serious situation is that it is found that the snapshot format after the revision is completely different from the previously included snapshots, which may cause search engines to think that something serious has happened to the website. As a result, the suspension of collection may take longer.
In short, it is understandable that the website revision will affect search engines. However, we all hope that this is only temporary and will not last for a long time.
