According to foreign media reports, Microsoft is planning to strengthen and optimize the task management functions of Windows 8. The new task manager will improve users’ experience in monitoring running programs and data processing.
According to the blog of Ryan Haveson, project director of Microsoft's PC Control Team, the default view page of Windows 8's new Task Manager has been optimized, making it easier for users to use and view. On first run, all running programs will be visible at a glance.
The new task manager removes all extension panels, menus and other segmented labels, and the program name is directly displayed. Users can use the new function to easily sort the program list according to programs, background running and window processes, and select and close unresponsive programs.
After the user clicks on the "More Details" tab, a window with more specific data will open, showing the memory, disk space and CPU used by each program. The new Task Manager also features a colorful view of different data values. Conveniently and quickly locate processes that occupy a large amount of resources.
The current task manager lists processes and services by file name, and usually cannot display specific running information. The Windows 8 Task Manager has made user-friendly improvements.
Task managers that aggregate large amounts of information are too complex and specialized for the average person. But the new Windows 8 Task Manager will allow ordinary users to easily understand and use the Task Manager.
