Let's first make a layer
1. Go to the "Window" menu > select "Layer" , or click the "Insert" menu > Layout Object > select "Layer".
2. Display a layer on the page.
3. Drag the surrounding black adjustment handle to control the size of the layer.
4. Drag the selection handle in the upper left corner of the layer to move the position of the layer.
5. Click the layer mark to select a layer.
6. You can insert any other elements into the layer, including pictures, text, links, tables, etc.
Many layers can be drawn on a page, and these layers will be listed in the layer panel. Layers can also overlap each other. The layer panel can be opened through the menu "Window" menu > select "Layer".
Here we need to explain several concepts. Layers have hidden and shown properties. This is an important attribute of the layer and becomes an important parameter when combined with the behavior mentioned later. Click on the left side of the layer panel list to open and close the eye. The eye opens and closes to show and hide presentation layers.
Another concept of layer is the number of layers. The number of layers determines which layer is on top and which layer is below when overlapping. For example, a layer with layer number 2 is above a layer with layer number 1. Changing the number of layers changes the overlapping order of the layers.
There is also a parameter on the layer panel that prevents layers from overlapping. Once selected, the middle layers of the page cannot overlap.
The layer also has a father-child relationship, which is a subordinate relationship. This is represented in the layers panel.
In the picture, Layer2 is hung below Layer1. Layer1 is the parent layer and Layer2 is the child layer. Drag Layer1 on the page, and Layer2 will also move accordingly. Because they are already chained together, and Layer2 is subordinate to Layer1. Movement of the parent layer will affect the child layer. Move layer2, but layer1 does not move. That is, the child layer will not affect the parent layer.
The method of establishing such an affiliation is simple. Press the Ctrl key in the layers panel and drag the child layer to the parent layer.
Since layers are very convenient in web page layout, some people may not like to use tables or "layout" mode to create their own pages, but prefer to design through layers. Dreamweaver MX 2004 can create your own layouts using layers and then convert them into tables.
Before converting to a table, make sure the layers do not overlap. Do the following: Choose Modify > Convert > Layer to Table. The Convert Layer to Table dialog box appears.
Select the desired option. Click OK.To convert a table to a layer, choose Modify > Convert > Table to Layer. The "Convert Table to Layer." dialog box will be displayed.
Select the desired option. Click OK.
We will briefly introduce layers and applications here.
