I have used Dreamweaver8 to create my own website. What is the purpose? Put it on the Internet, that is, finally publish your own website. So did you make any mistakes in the process of making the web page? So we need to carefully check if there are any errors before publishing.
It is necessary to use Dreamweaver 8 Site Manager to check and organize your website files before publishing the website. Broken links, erroneous code, unused orphan files, etc. can be found for correction and processing.
The steps are as follows: In the edit view, click "Site" on the menu bar > select "Check site-wide links", and the "Results" dialog box will pop up, as shown below:
The picture below shows all the information the checker has checked on the links between this website and external websites. For external links, the checker cannot determine whether they are correct or not, so please check by yourself.
The picture below shows the orphan files found by the checker. These files are not used by your webpage, but are still stored in your website folder. After uploading, they will occupy effective space and should be cleared. The clearing method is: first select the file, click the Delete key, and confirm. These files are placed in the "Recycle Bin".
If you do not want to delete these files, click the Save Report button (shown in the picture above), and in the pop-up dialog box, you can give the report file a save path and file name. The report file is a list of inspection results. You can refer to this table for processing.
Once corrected and tidied up, your website is ready for publication.
