I tearfully wrote down my personal experience of the experiment: On April 13, I participated in the search engine competition sponsored by Webmaster.com - "Gu Baiyou" with three purposes:
1. I started to do a little internal optimization on the website before going online. I want to add a little more optimization techniques every day in the future, so that search engines will feel that this website is slowly growing like a child. The purpose is to compare whether "it is better to wait until all internal optimizations are completed before launching a new website" or "it is better to slowly do internal optimization after it is launched".
Personal experience: I think it is better to "do a little optimization and go online first" for these two points. After all, that is more in line with the habits of search engines and gives you an opportunity to win the weight of the website. But don’t optimize too much to prevent the weight of the new site from being able to withstand your excessive optimization. As others have said: The starting point for anything must be high, but if it is too high, it will be very bad if you fall down.
2. In the middle of the competition, no matter what the ranking is, the program and space of the website must be changed. Let’s take a look at the results of the new website under the influence of strong external links.
Personal Thoughts: When you see this, do you think it’s ridiculous? Is this done by someone who does SEO? Haha, regarding SEO optimization, no one is sure what should be done and what should not be done. I am talking about participating in the competition. It’s also for the sake of learning. What’s wrong with doing ridiculous experiments for the sake of learning? Without further ado, let’s talk about what I concluded after this experiment in detail. This site is a program and space that was changed in the middle of the competition (5 Around August 8th), it was also changed when our site was currently in the best ranking of the competition. At that time, the site ranked first in the Baidu group, (if you don’t believe it, you can check this link, with a screenshot attached): http:/ /www.gbaiyou.com/news_94.html
What should we pay attention to when changing the program of the website?
(1). The URL structure of the website should remain unchanged. We all know that search engine spiders have already captured the structure of your site into its database before the revision. The structure of our website after the revision must also remain unchanged from the structure before the revision, so that the search engine will not Your site will be reordered as a new site.
(2) Be sure to create a 404 error page. Our website cannot have the same structure 100% by changing another program. Creating a 404 error page can keep it friendly to search engines.
(3). The website coding remains the same. I don't know whether encoding has any impact on the ranking of a website, but if a site suddenly changes all encoding, it must be something. So we try to keep the same coding as before because it's easy to implement. The previous program was encoded in UTF-8, and I also selected UTF-8 when I downloaded the new program.
(4). The website template remains unchanged. I completely copied the template I used before changing the program, and then replaced the corresponding tags. If the previous column is a popular article, you can find the corresponding popular article tag and replace it. Regarding label replacement, you can refer to their official help documentation.
(5) After confirming that it is correct, what we are doing now is to guide the spider to update. First, find 2-3 new relevant links. It is best to focus on quality. Now submit a new XML sitemap to shorten the transition time for website revisions by speeding up search engine spider visits.
(6). Keep original and updated.
I think the above 6 points should be considered when changing programs, but for the sake of experiment, I resolutely gave up the 1st and 4th points. You can view the current Baidu internal page snapshots through site:, all of which are related to the current site. The content and structure of the website did not match the content and structure of the website. I obviously failed to give up on these two points. Since then, the ranking of this website has plummeted, from the original first to the 7th page. I am no longer diligent in updating snapshots. Haha, but I I feel that this failure is also the biggest gain for me. There are many things that are difficult to gain if you don’t experience them yourself, and some experiences are difficult to express. The game time is not over yet, anything can happen. Maybe this is not a real "failure"! Hehe.
3. Of course I also want to get good results in this competition. (This purpose also depends on the two experiments above. If the above experiments fail, then this purpose will be zero. Now that the game is not over, this purpose is hard to say, hehe!)
The above are my little thoughts, I hope it will be helpful to you, thank you!
