The editor of Downcodes will take you to learn about WeRide’s latest mass-produced Robotaxi—GXR! This self-driving car, which incorporates more than 1,800 days of public operation experience, has L4 self-driving capabilities and can handle various complex road conditions. Its advanced technology and comfortable riding experience will bring passengers a new way of travel. Let’s take a deeper look at GXR’s core technologies and innovative designs.
WeRide Zhixing officially released its new generation of mass-produced Robotaxi - GXR on October 15. GXR fully draws on WeRide's more than 1,800 days of public operation experience in the field of robotaxi. It has L4 public road operation capabilities and can freely handle complex scenarios such as morning and evening peak hours, mixed traffic of people and vehicles, and high-speed driving at night.
WeRide GXR has comprehensive redundant systems such as architecture, FO wire-controlled chassis, computing units, and brakes, which can effectively avoid single points of failure. The new HPC2.0 high-performance computing platform can provide over 1,300TOPS AI computing power to efficiently meet the computing needs of the entire vehicle. On the sensing module, GXR is equipped with WeRide's new generation sensor suite Sensor Suite5.6, which has more than 20 sensors including high-performance and low-cost lidar, high-definition and high-dynamic cameras, RTK high-precision combined inertial navigation modules, etc.
GXR has an ultra-long vehicle length of 5,018mm, a cabin height of 1,340mm, and an ultra-long wheelbase of 3,100mm. It also eliminates the passenger seat, achieving the best "occupancy rate" in the Robotaxi field. In addition, GXR also pioneered the hidden B-pillar design. The front door and side sliding door can be opened at the same time, and there is a special carry-on luggage area that can accommodate at least one carry-on backpack and one 22-inch suitcase.
WeRide pointed out that after GXR officially opens for public operation, passengers can use the "WeRide Go App" to check the GXR operating area and start the GXR test ride experience. As one of the earliest autonomous driving solution providers to enter the L4 track, WeRide has so far carried out autonomous driving R&D, testing and operations in 30 cities in 7 countries around the world, with application scenarios covering smart travel, smart freight and smart sanitation. .
The release of GXR marks WeRide's significant progress in the field of autonomous driving. It also indicates that Robotaxi technology is continuing to mature and will bring more convenience and possibilities to people's travels in the future. We look forward to GXR being able to provide safe and efficient travel services to more cities in the future.
