Google Meet has launched a highly anticipated new feature, Take Notes for Me, that will revolutionize the way people participate in meetings. It automatically summarizes the meeting content, generates a concise and concise Google Doc, and attaches it to the calendar event for easy review by all attendees. This feature is currently available to some Google Workspace users and is planned to be available to all users by September 10, 2024.
Google Meet’s new feature “take notes for me” is officially launched. This feature is currently available to Google Workspace customers using Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or the AI Meetings & Messaging add-on.
This feature is similar to Meet's transcription tool, but it works differently. It doesn't just automatically record what everyone says, but summarizes the meeting content.
You can imagine that you no longer need to take notes in a meeting in the future! When the meeting is over, Google Meet will automatically organize the meeting notes into a Google document and attach the document to the calendar event, so that you can Check it out anytime. Even better, the meeting organizer and other attendees who have this feature turned on will receive this document, which is really thoughtful!
In addition, if you are late for some reason, Google will provide you with a summary of the meeting content you missed, so that you can quickly understand the progress of the meeting when you join without worrying about others repeating what was said before. At the same time, if you use the recording and transcription functions of Google Meet, links to relevant files will also be provided in the meeting record document, which is really a one-stop service.
This feature is also a great accessibility tool for some people who have difficulty processing language and taking notes simultaneously during meetings. It allows them to focus more and avoid asking people to repeat content frequently. However, everyone should also note that although this feature sounds very powerful, it currently only supports English, and Google also reminds everyone that AI sometimes makes mistakes.
Google expects to roll out this feature to all Google Workspace users by September 10, 2024.
