Abu Dhabi Technology Innovation Institute (TII) has released its new generation open source AI model Falcon3, which has significantly improved the amount of training data and performance, and defeated multiple mainstream open source models in Hugging Face's evaluation. The Falcon3 series offers a variety of specifications and supports multiple languages. It also focuses on ease of use and compatibility with existing tools, and also launches supporting chatbot applications.
Abu Dhabi Technology Innovation Institute (TII) has released a new generation of open source AI model Falcon3. With a training volume of 14 trillion tokens and optimized architecture design, its performance on consumer-grade hardware has set a new record. This training scale is more than twice that of its predecessor, Falcon2. The Falcon3 series is launched in four specifications: 1B, 3B, 7B and 10B. Each specification provides a basic version and an Instruct version optimized for dialogue. Although available exclusively in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, each model can handle most common languages. In Hugging Face's third-party language model evaluation, Falcon3 defeated mainstream open source models including Meta's Llama-3.1-8B, Qwen2.5-7B, Mistral's NeMo-12B and Google's Gemma2-9B, showing strong competitiveness.

TII places special emphasis on the ease of use of the model, ensuring compatibility with standard APIs and libraries, and providing resource-optimized quantized versions for specific hardware configurations. At the same time, the institute also launched a free chatbot for user testing and feedback. This product draws on the successful experience of ChatGPT in its interface design and implements similar functions such as project folders.
Looking forward, TII plans to expand the capabilities of the Falcon3 series in early 2025 and will launch multi-modal models that support image, video and voice processing. All models are currently available for free download on the Hugging Face platform, under the Apache 2.0-based TII Falcon license, which includes guidelines to promote responsible use of AI.

This release marks another important development in the field of open source AI, especially a breakthrough achievement in improving AI performance on consumer-grade hardware. With the addition of multi-modal capabilities, Falcon3 is expected to bring more innovative application possibilities to the AI open source community in 2025.
The release of Falcon3 has brought new vitality to the open source AI field. Its powerful performance and ease of use will promote the development and popularization of more AI applications. It is worth looking forward to its future expansion and development in the multi-modal field.
