At the CES 2025 exhibition in Las Vegas, Harman, a subsidiary of Samsung, made a stunning appearance and launched its latest emotional intelligence AI system "Ready Engage", which aims to transform cars into empathetic smart partners. Through innovative technology, this system strives to understand user needs, adapt to personal preferences, and create unique interactive experiences, marking a new stage of in-vehicle AI technology. Harman is committed to creating a more humane and intelligent in-car environment, bringing unprecedented comfort and convenience to drivers and passengers.
At the just-concluded CES show, Harman, a subsidiary of Samsung, demonstrated a new technology that it claims will transform an ordinary car into an "empathic companion." The "Ready Engage" on display this time is Harman's latest emotional intelligence AI system, equipped with a virtual character named Luna, and combined with the voice assistant platform of Massachusetts-based Cerence AI. Luna not only enhances the capabilities of Harman's other AI solutions, but also personalizes interactions through friendly voice and visual effects, helping in-car passengers establish a natural connection with technology.
In addition, Luna will integrate with Harman's Ready Vision products, including the acclaimed QVUE windshield display, which provides immersive augmented reality capabilities such as dynamic street visualization and transparent front view. Ready Engage will provide automaker customers with a fully customizable solution, Harman said.
This technology is powered by Harman's Ready Upgrade Cockpit Domain Controller and Central Computing Unit (CCU) platforms, which are known as the company's "intelligent brains" and drive various experiences in the vehicle. Ready Upgrade can significantly shorten development cycles and reduce costs by providing a turnkey solution and system updates every three months, Harman claims.
In addition, Harman has also cooperated with South Korea's HL Klemove to launch a CCU platform that integrates Ready Upgrade and its second-level assisted driving software stack. The two companies are also developing a more advanced CCU platform to integrate the latest cockpit features and autonomous driving technology to help automakers accelerate market introduction.
"Harman is pioneering the next frontier in automotive technology by translating user state and contextual understanding to create truly contextual in-car experiences," said Armin Prommersberg, Harman's chief technology officer. He added that Harman Our portfolio of smart solutions is the most comprehensive in the industry, helping original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) deliver differentiation and deeper customer engagement.
At the CES show, Harman also announced its cooperation with Miovision, a Canadian intelligent transportation solution expert, to launch a new vehicle-to-network software service solution Ready Aware, as well as the Ready Connect5G in-vehicle communication control unit in cooperation with Qualcomm.
