Before I became a webmaster, I often saw some introductions on the Internet about how content should be king on a website. The author will give you a rough and clear explanation of the relationship between content and SEO, but because I was not very familiar with SEO at the time. Later, when I entered the industry, most of the things I came into contact with were methods of collection, updating, and pseudo-originality. However, there is one thing that cannot be ignored. No matter what method you use to update your site, the purpose is the same. In order to get better ranking and search engine friendliness, I now make a blog on Factory Network. They always insist on updating content under the guidance of content being king. But, how should we update our website? This is also a question I have been thinking about:
1. What kind of content should be updated?
2. How often should it be updated?
3. The depth of the update (is it just the homepage updated, or are the inner pages also updated)
What kind of content should be updated: Many website administrators nowadays do not know what purpose they update, and some simply want to change the content of the website. As a result, a lot of copy and paste was used. Those articles have appeared hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of times on the Internet. But is that content useful to the website? Can it increase the weight? It may be that these webmasters have not been exposed to relevant information from search engines. It is recommended that the article be as original as possible, or pseudo-original. Blindly collecting and copying and pasting will not be effective in ranking the website.
How often to update: Arrange the time reasonably according to your own situation. It won’t be like three or two months without any updates. The search engine is also a browser. Just ask yourself, if a website has not been updated for several months. Every time I go in I see the same thing. So, will you continue to support this website as always?
Depth of update: As mentioned above, update is not just about updating the homepage of the website, we have to find ways to update the pages that are buried deeper. Every time we update, we give search engines a crawling instruction. Therefore, we need to update some of the more important pages at a certain frequency to prevent search engines from thinking that this site has nothing.
The key to helping SEO is updated content on the website. Is this content original content or collected or copied content? The collected content is estimated to have little effect on current search engine technology. Therefore, I still support originality, at least pseudo-originality. The next step is frequent updates and update depth, which is clearly stated above.
Baidu has made it clear: "Baidu prefers unique and original content. If your site content is just collected and copied from various places, it is likely that it will not be included by Baidu." From this suggestion, it is not difficult to see that the website How important is the originality of content to search engine friendliness?
I have been blogging for more than two weeks, and my website was not included in the last update. However, the inclusion results obtained by the update on May 28 are much less than the content of my article. Basically it can be said that it is except for a few simple pages and the homepage. None of the articles were included, and the reason is simple. Even when Baidu didn’t pay much attention to my blog and didn’t give me much weight, every original article I wrote was first published on my blog and then directly sent to other websites with higher authority than mine. I often post articles to A5. The direct result of this is that those websites have included my articles, and even some websites that reprinted my articles may have been included, but my own blog has not. Instead, the search engines mistakenly thought that my articles were copy-pasted articles and would not be included. From this point of view, I have already suffered a dumb loss. What was originally a high-quality article was not included, and all I got was an increase in reverse direction.
Therefore, I would like to give a piece of advice to my friends who are planning to do the same thing as me: when you write original articles, try not to publish them externally. Publish it on your own site first, and then publish it outside after it is included, like this. Search engines will think that if the content of your website is of high quality, and if others reprint it more, it means that your website is good. The relative weight given is also very high.
