This masterpiece was built 48 years ago
red again and again
Speaking of the most popular TV series in recent times, "Squidward Game" must be on the list.
Don’t believe it? Netflix will tell you that it has become the most watched show in its history. And it’s not just Korean dramas, it’s all dramas, even Americans who don’t like to read subtitles have been conquered.
It is true that the audience has mixed reviews on the plot, but almost all of them expressed their deep impression of the color aesthetics. Especially the stair-like corridor that must be passed before each game is like a huge three-dimensional maze, which is quite magical.
And every time the camera turns here, it means that a new death elimination is about to begin.
All players walk through the maze in silence, not knowing where it will take them. This childlike yet absurd scene always makes the audience excited and nervous.
At first, I thought that such a surreal design probably only existed in movies and TV shows, but I didn’t expect that it actually had a prototype.
Its shadow can be found in an apartment named "Red Wall". In the past few years, this Spanish town house has been popular among Instagram bloggers and has become a popular travel destination.
However, it is not a packaging celebrity, but a masterpiece by a master.
As early as 1973, the architectural wizard Ricardo Bofill built it. He is the pioneer of Spanish postmodernism, and many of his works are also called "the most impressive buildings of the 20th century."
The Red Wall Apartment is undoubtedly the masterpiece. A steady stream of people drive here just to see the beauty of this "castle" on the coastal cliffs and leave their own beautiful photos.
After "Squid Game" became a hit, it will surely become popular again.

Too beautiful to be true
When the Red Wall Apartments were first built, they were regarded as utopian buildings because they were too bizarre.
So it’s not surprising to me that it has become an internet celebrity again nearly 50 years later. After all, from its location to its appearance, it conforms to the most advanced imagination of fantasy.
Heading south along the coast from Barcelona, it takes 5 hours to drive to the town of Calpe.
As a prosperous resort town on the Mediterranean Sea, whether it is sunshine, sandy beaches, waves, or cacti, everything here is complete.
The tall red wall stands on the edge of the atmospheric cliff, running vertically along the outline of the coastline, facing North Africa across the sea. Its shape is also deeply inspired by traditional castles in the Arab world, incorporating a touch of exotic style.
When you first see it, it's hard not to be attracted by the color.
The sharp contrast between the warm red exterior wall and the azure blue sea gave this apartment its name.
Moreover, this red is not a single color.
It sometimes changes from fiery red to soft pale pink, making the overall look more vivid.
The bright exterior is wrapped in a quiet interior.
On the patio, the colors switch to cooler tones. Gradating from sky blue, indigo, to violet, it reflects the light sky, and occasionally forms a wonderful fusion with the changing light.
Clean geometric lines are also a feature of the apartment.
The stacked stairs and interconnected corridor bridges make the shape interesting and provide ample space for photography enthusiasts.
The design is so close to a fairy tale that it makes people fall into a dream. It is not until they see the cars parked at the door that they realize that it is a real apartment.
There are a total of 50 residences inside the red wall, including three types of apartments from small to large: a 60-square-meter studio, an 80-square-meter two-bedroom apartment, and a 120-square-meter three-bedroom apartment to meet various living needs.
Public spaces are also full of life.
Not only are the courtyards and corridors decorated with flowers and plants, but also the cross-shaped swimming pool, sauna and solarium on the roof terrace have been pre-designed.
Today, this 48-year-old apartment is still well maintained. Looking out to the sea from the terrace is the eye-catching giant rock landmark, which is as beautiful as a picture scroll.
I have to lament that the ultimate dream of many people is just the daily life of the people living here.
