In the test server, deploying a drone will put Killer Power on a 12.5 second cooldown. Considering that the drones themselves need to be placed at a certain distance from each other, the cooldown time may further limit the killer's capabilities. Therefore, we decided to remove the cooldown time limit for deploying drones, only set a cooldown time for reactivating existing drones, and shortened the cooldown time to 10 seconds.
The drone takes 4 seconds to activate after deployment, giving survivors an excessive amount of time to react and leave the area before lock progress begins to accumulate. Therefore we decided to shorten the startup time of the drone to 3 seconds.
Survivors can disable the drone 5 seconds after it is deployed. Daring and careful survivors can disable the drone before it has time to play any practical role. In the official update, we will extend the "unhackable" time of the drone to 10 seconds. Once the drone enters the "hackable" state, it will remain in active mode for 20 seconds. (Total active time is 30 seconds)
As a killer, staying within the range of an active drone for 3 seconds will grant you the undetectable status, making it harder for survivors to predict your movements. However, sometimes there may be an embarrassing moment of standing still and waiting for the status to take effect. When the official update is made, this time will be shortened to 2 seconds.
As a survivor, staying within the range of an active drone for too long will result in the drone locking onto it and applying a dangerous status. However, it is difficult for the killer to respond in time within the short effective time, unless both parties are already in the process of chasing. Therefore, we decided to make the following changes to the locking mechanism:
Lock duration extended to 60 seconds (originally 30 seconds)
Uncharged lock progress will begin to decay 10 seconds after leaving the range of the active drone (originally 5 seconds)
Entering range of an active drone while locked will return the lock duration to 60 seconds, and the countdown will not begin until you leave range.
Killer can see survivor's lock progress to better plan chases
In addition to targeting, drones are also a powerful tool for tracking escapees. During testing, we found that it was difficult for the killer to take full advantage of these "eyes in the sky," so we made improvements in this area as well:
The battery life of the Claw Trap has been changed from 25 seconds to 45 seconds, extending the time the killer can track survivors. The "Battery Overload" add-on will also be adjusted accordingly.
Survivors no longer receive relevant prompts when their location is exposed on radar
The killer's movement speed when checking the radar has been changed from 4.0 m/s to 4.4 m/s.
Improved sound effects to provide clearer prompts when survivors are being tracked
After the above adjustments, survivors need to be more cautious when fighting against the Bone Merchant. To make sure these adjustments don't cause too much frustration, we've also added a few additional changes:
Approaching a drone by a Survivor wearing a Claw Trap will no longer cause the drone to enter an "unhackable" state
Survivors wearing the Claw Trap can disable the drone, but be careful, entering the drone's range will still activate the drone and recharge the Claw Trap's battery.
Survivors who fail to crack will be locked immediately
After reading the above change description, people who may not know the new Butcher will be confused. Don’t panic. Let’s start to explain the abilities:
Four drones: The Bone Merchant gets 4 drones at the start. Click the right button to release them at the current location (note that although the drone has an animation time for taking off, it will definitely be deployed at the location when you right-click it. ), the drone enters active mode after 3 seconds, of which survivors cannot interact with it (dismantle the drone) for the first 10 seconds. After being locked, the person will enter a dangerous state for 60 seconds and will remain in danger as long as they are still on the drone. Moreover, this dangerous state will be refreshed back to 60 seconds as long as it is scanned by the drone again before it ends. Demolition: After 10 seconds of activity, the drone enters the "crackable" state, or when it enters the dormant state, people can interact with it and press a special QTE similar to Audition's up, down, left, and right arrow keys to dismantle the drone.
