The PTR opens up cross-server teaming for PVP, and in the future, cross-server raiding may be possible just like the official server. Blizzard Blue Post mentioned: As the 3.4.1 patch and the release of Ulduar are approaching, a common problem is the transfer and new character creation restrictions that exist on some large servers in the United States and Europe. We do recognize that PVP is cross-server in almost all versions of World of Warcraft, and that server limitations prevent the use of the "Teamless Arena" added in WLK Classic. Therefore, we implemented a system that allows you to team up with players on other servers and queue into Arenas and Battlegrounds together. We think this is a smart change, as Arena has been cross-server since its inception in 2007, and Battlegrounds became cross-server shortly after it was introduced in the original World of Warcraft.
We have enabled this feature on the WLK Classic PTR test, and we would be happy if you would like to come along with some friends to help us test it.
How to use this feature:
In order to invite players from different servers, you need to enter /invite [player name]-[server name]. For example, if I was on PTR Server 1 and I wanted to invite "Aggrend" from PTR Server 2, I would type (without spaces):
This feature is currently being tested on the PTR test server. In order to invite players from different servers, you need to enter /invite [player name]-[server name].
The command to invite other server players is:
You just need to enter the following command in the chat bar:
Invited players will see the following:
You will be assigned to a cross-server team:
At this time, the group leader can queue up for the battlefield or arena normally. You'll compete in the same matches, be assigned to the same teams, and earn honors and arena levels just like you would in any normal arena or battlefield team.
Please note that only players from the same camp are allowed to form cross-server teams . In addition, this system can only be used for PVP queuing, and is not allowed to be used outdoors , nor is it allowed to enter non-battlefield, non-arena dungeons or team copies with the group leader in any way. The team chat function can be used normally, but except for chatting and playing in arenas and battlefields, members of different servers will not interact directly (which may refer to actions such as "trading").
At first, my uncle made a lot of analysis and made various guesses. However, after the player asked the person in charge of NetEase in the comment area, the other person responded very cautiously and did not express his agreement. Instead, he replied that this was just "his personal opinion", which made everyone confused. After thinking about it, someone later made a vivid metaphor about the probability of "three gold and oranges in a pack" , which means that even if Blizzard and NetEase have begun negotiations, the suspension of the service is inevitable . After all, there are still many terms to be determined. ~
