What is the function of defense mode in Age of Wonders 4? Players can freely turn on this mode in the game, but some friends may not know its specific function yet. Let’s take a look at it below.
When a unit is in a defensive state, it will have different attribute bonuses depending on the defense mode (see below). If the unit has not used up its action points during the round, it will automatically enter the defensive state at the end of the round (a white text prompt will appear above its head). There are currently four known defense modes:
Defense Mode: Self +2 Defense +2 Resistance, immune to side attacks.
Defense Mode: Shield Wall: Self +2 Defense +2 Resistance, immune to side attacks; control area expanded by 1 square; adjacent friendly allies +3 Defense.
Defense Mode: Ward: Self +2 Defense +2 Resistance, immune to side attacks; control area expanded by 1 square; adjacent friendly allies +3 Defense +3 Resistance (status resistance).
Defense Mode: Protected Wall (Defense Mode: Protected Wall): Self +? Defense +? Resistance, immune to side attacks.
