You may want to say, what is worth mentioning about website submissions? In fact, there are many areas that webmasters or editors should improve.
1. Respect users
Why should we respect users? Everyone knows this, so I won’t go into details. What I want to say is how to respect users and what to respect users. Let me give you an example. Nowadays, many well-known websites use DedeCms for their member submission systems. Of course, I am not saying that this CMS is not good, but it is not very user-friendly in terms of member submissions. Why do you say that? If you have submitted a manuscript, you will know it. Let me tell you how their system works. A member submits a manuscript. After the submission is successful, you will see the unreviewed manuscript. If the webmaster views your article and it fails the review, they will delete it immediately, leaving you unable to find any record of this article in the member management interface. What I want to say is this. Sometimes an article may take a day or more for some people to complete. As website owners, why don’t we leave it for users? Why should we delete it directly? This seems very rude. When we were in school, you wrote an article, but the teacher didn't read it and just tore up the notebook you handed in. I thought about your mood, would you still take the initiative to go to the teacher? In the same way, as a website, we still need to respect the fruits of our members' labor sometimes.
So how can you respect the results of members’ labor and meet the needs of your website? Everyone knows that it is impossible for the website to include all the articles written by everyone. If that is the case, this website must be a garbage website. We can set one under the membership. If the review fails, it can be corrected just like the primary school students' writing teacher. Then list the reasons why the article failed the review. For example, your article is not healthy, the content is not detailed, etc. In this way, when users enter the membership system for the first time, they will see, oh, what is wrong with this article of mine? I will improve it or pay attention to it next time I write an article.
2. Timeliness of processing user submissions
On some websites, the longest it takes a day or a few days after a user submits an article, and the fastest it only takes a few minutes, before the website will reply to you and tell you whether it is approved or deleted. You may say, I am a big website user who contributes thousands of articles every day. How can I read them all in a few minutes? Of course, if you can read it by yourself, then ten people can read it. Is it over? If you don’t want to increase the running costs and staff of the website, then you can do this, and at least it will give the contributors a comfort. That is, you can improve your user submission system. Let’s give an example. If there are 500 user submissions every day, and it takes you two hours to read them, you can set it up like this under member submissions. When a user submits a submission, ten minutes after the user submits the submission, the status will be changed to submission for preliminary review, and it will take 30 minutes. After one pass, it will be changed to pre-trial pass. How great is this? When users come to your membership system for the second time, they will get a comfort, and contributors will often come to contribute.
3. Provide relevant instructions for user processing
For the articles submitted by users, only one will pass the review after being included in your website. If you change something somewhere in the article, there is no explanation. You'd better improve the membership system and change it somewhere. If you do something like a primary school student's composition, the teacher will give you a comment next to it. In this way, after users who submit articles see it, they will find that the editor-in-chief of your website is very attentive and responsible. At the same time, they will also note the questions you raised, so that they will not make the same mistakes next time they submit. , the editor-in-chief of your website will review articles faster.
4. Processing of files after collection
After an article is included by you, it generally cannot be changed. For example, if you find a typo or something, you can change it on some websites but not on the included page. Some websites will still leave it after your submission. Which one is reviewed next? There are some things that are not there. I think this is not done well. You have to read so many articles every day, and it is impossible to read some articles in such detail. You also allow users to participate in the revision. Leave the reviewer, QQ, Email and other information under the approved article.
5. Areas worthy of improvement in the member submission system
There are many websites that currently have member submission systems that do not leave any help articles about submissions from your website, nor do they leave any information about the submission review editor. You may want to say, isn’t it on our website? Why stay at this point? It is possible that it is available on your website, but is it easy to find the location where it is left? It would take a long time for a veteran like me to search, not to mention there are so many of them? Since you have stayed on your website, why not also stay under this membership? I think this is more user-friendly, and I hope that major websites that have submission systems can add these.
To sum up, this is just my opinion as a contributor. I hope major websites can improve it. It won’t take you much time. As a programmer, it only takes a few minutes to change a program like this. I hope you will bear with me if we don't have a good discussion. I hope all major websites will get better and better.
The above are some of my own opinions, which are relatively superficial. You are welcome to correct me and communicate with me QQ: 93065410 Website: http://www.luzhuba.cn.
