Since the launch of the website diagnosis section of the Tuiyi Forum, nearly 1,000 websites have been diagnosed for free. At the same time, a large number of problems will arise every day in the promotion of the entry section. The author found that many of these questions are repetitive, especially some basic questions, which are asked almost every day. Therefore, Jiang Likun decided to organize some very common issues that everyone is very concerned about into articles to facilitate everyone's learning. Today, let’s talk about an issue that attracts the most attention, the issue of exchanging friendly links and building external links.
1. The purpose of exchanging friendly links
1. Improve PR. This is the most fundamental purpose of exchanging friendly links. If you know what PR value is, please see the explanation of terms at the bottom.
2. Improve keyword ranking. This is also one of the purposes, and its importance does not need to be repeated. For keyword optimization techniques, please refer to the author's previous article "Jiang Likun: How to Improve Keyword Ranking in Search".
3. Improve website weight. This is very important. Only if your weight is high will search engines value you.
4. Increase visibility. This article is quite targeted, and will only achieve this effect for some specific websites and specific situations. For example, if an unknown new website can be linked to all major portals such as Sina, SOHU, YAHOO, NetEase, and Tencent, it will definitely greatly improve its popularity and brand image.
5. Increase traffic. This item is almost negligible, but the reason why it is written is because many newcomers have a misunderstanding, thinking that changing friendly links is to increase traffic, so I would like to seriously correct it here. Friendly links are of very little help in increasing traffic. If friendly links If the few IPs brought can affect the traffic of your website, then it is debatable whether the website needs to continue to exist. In fact, when I first learned to build a website, I thought so too:(
2. What is a high-quality link?
1. Alexa ranking. Alexa ranking represents traffic. Of course, some people have said that many website rankings are obtained through cheating. This is meaningless. It is true that a website with a ranking does not necessarily have traffic, but a website that does not rank certainly does not have traffic. As for how high a ranking website is suitable for exchanging with, there is no clear standard. The author thinks that it should not be too lower than the ranking of your own website.
2. PR value. This represents the weight of the website. Only by exchanging links with websites with high weight will your own weight be increased. Generally speaking, as long as the opponent's PR value is higher than yourself, you can switch. However, the author believes that it should be at least 4 to be considered a high-quality link.
3. Popularity. It is best for the other party's website to have a certain degree of popularity or influence in the industry.
4. Relevance. The subject content of the other party's website must be relevant to our website.
6. Web page snapshot. The sunshine time of the other party's website should be within every day.
7. Number of entries. First, the number included by search engines and the actual content of the website should not differ too much. Second, it is best not to have too big a difference in the number of indexes of the other party's website on Baidu and GOOGLE. You can refer to the index ratio of similar websites in different search engines.
8. Update speed. The content of the other party's website should be updated every day. Only websites that are updated every day will be valued by search engines, users will like them, and links will be valuable.
3. Links that should never be changed
1. Fake PR. Usually fake PR refers to a means of using PR hijacking technology to deceive the PR value. However, identification is also very easy, and there are many online identification tools.
2. There are too many export links. Even if the other party's PR value is 10, if there are hundreds of links, not much will actually go to you.
3. Internal page links. Resolutely do not link to internal pages. Internal page links are often meaningless. Because the dedicated friendly link page is not updated every day, and usually the friendly link page does not have a high PR value.

4. JS link. This cannot be changed. Search engines cannot see what is in JS at all. Search engines can't see it, which means the link is invalid.
5. Pages without PR value will not be changed. The reason why I write this is because many newcomers think that as long as the other party's website has PR, it will be effective if it is exchanged with any of its pages. In fact, this is not the case. You must directly exchange with the other party's page that has PR value. Just fine. Dear readers, don’t laugh, it is true that many newcomers have this misunderstanding.
4. Channels for obtaining links
1. Personal relationship. The new website has no PR value, no ranking, and no traffic, so no one will be willing to switch with you. So at this time, we can only rely on personal relationships. Sometimes in order to survive, we have to keep face in our pockets.
2. QQ group. Add more related website groups and interact more in the groups. Maybe you can talk about some free links.
3. Specialized link websites. There are many websites and forums dedicated to exchanging friendly links. For example, if you push a forum, there is a special friendly link section, and everyone is welcome to use it.
4. Resource exchange. If you really can't get a link, you can only find a way to exchange resources. For example, if your writing style is very good, then help others write a soft article and change it to a link.
5. Purchase link. If none of the above methods work, the only option is to buy it with money. There are many links selling now, and the prices are relatively transparent. Generally, a high-quality PR5 link costs more than a hundred yuan, while a less expensive one costs tens of yuan. Please pay attention to the following points when buying links:
A. Don’t buy too much at one time, you’ll be easily fooled, so buy little by little.
B. Don’t buy low-quality links for cheap.
C. It is best to buy one month before the PR value is updated, so that you can save two months of money.
D. After the PR value is raised, quickly exchange some high-quality links back. After all, the cost of spending money to buy links for a long time is too high.
4. Explanation of related names
1. What is an external link: An external link is also called an external link or a reverse link. Refers to links outside of the non-local site. Any link from an external website to your own site is called an external link.
2. What is PR value: The full name of PR value is PageRank, which is the level technology of web pages. It is a method used by Google to evaluate the "importance" of a web page on a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being a perfect score. The higher the PR value, the more popular (more important) the page is, and it will also get a better ranking in search engines.
3. What is website weight: Search engines assign a certain authority value to a website (including web pages), and evaluate the authority of a website (including web pages). The higher the weight of a website, the greater its weight in search engines, and in search results. The better the engine ranking, increasing the weight of the website will not only help the website (including web pages) rank higher in search engines, but also increase the traffic of the entire site and improve the trust of the website. Therefore, it is very important to increase the weight of the website.
Simply put, weight refers to the importance and authority of a website in SEO. Weight is not equal to ranking, but weight has a very large impact on ranking. An increase in the weight of the entire site is beneficial to the ranking of internal pages.
4. What is a webpage snapshot: In layman's terms, a webpage snapshot means that when a search engine collects a webpage, it will make a backup, mostly text, which saves the main text content of the webpage, so that when the webpage is deleted or the connection fails, , users can use a web page snapshot to view the main content of this web page. Since this snapshot is mainly text content, it will speed up access.
5. What is PR value hijacking: that is, using deception to obtain a relatively high PR value display on the toolbar. The method is to use jump. Generally, when search engines handle 301 and 302 redirects, they treat the target URL as the URL that should actually be included. Of course there are exceptions, but in most cases this is how it is handled. So if you do a 301 or 302 jump from domain name A to domain name B, and the PR value of domain name B is relatively high, domain name A will also display the PR value of domain name B after the PR is updated. The simplest thing is to first do a 301 or 302 jump to domain name B with high PR. After the PR is updated, immediately cancel the redirection and obtain the same PR value as station B. This fake PR display value will be maintained at least until the next PR update, which is usually two or three months or longer (GG updates have been a bit slow recently).
A more subtle approach is to detect Google spiders through the program, return a 301 or 302 redirect, and return normal content to ordinary visitors and other spiders. In this way, what we see is a normal website, and only Google will see the redirection.
