Search engine algorithms are inseparable from links, so links are also one of the essential factors in search engines. There are four basic methods for search engines to evaluate links to web pages:
1. Number of links:
Use the link command to query the backlinks of the website. Take my site as an example. Enter link:www.5188ptc.cn in the search engine to find the backlinks of this site in this search engine. Generally speaking, a website with a larger number of links will rank higher than a website with fewer links. However, not all links are created equal, and below is exactly that.
2. Link quality:
Blog, I believe everyone is familiar with it. In the blogging community, everyone has their own opinions and ideas, but some people's opinions are more valuable than others. Opinions expressed through links created through advertorials are no different. When a link to a web page is an endorsement of that web page, search engines determine authority by examining the link popularity of the site from which the link originated. Therefore, when a high-authority site links to your website, it is giving some of its authority to your website. Search engines attribute top page rankings to linking from many high-quality sites, and it's even more complicated. Search engines mathematically calculate the authority transferred to each link based on the number of links—a high-authority page with only 5 links transfers the same authority to each link as a page with 50 links. The theory is that only so much authority exists, and the greater the number of links, the lower the recommendation value each linked page will receive.
3. Text link:
The text of the link that the visitor clicked is very important to search engines. Text links are a key search query ranking factor in search engine algorithms - search queries tend to return linked web pages that contain the search query keywords in the text link.
For example: If a webpage on the "seo" website starts to attract many links to "SEO services", then the ranking of the seo webpage for search requests containing these words will be higher than before.
4. Link relevance:
Links from content-relevant sites are also a key factor in ranking search requests. When we mention “relevance of content” below. Relevance of content means that the information is about a certain topic (or topic or title) - it is not enough for text links to use similar words, because words can have different meanings in unrelated topics. Beyond text links, search engines look at the words surrounding the text link, the entire web page, and even the entire site the link originated from. Why? Because sites related to the topic of the search request provide more relevant links than other sites.
A random link from a popular site does not have the same authority as a link from a site that is both popular and highly relevant.
It's pretty fast calculations for a search engine to consider so many complex factors in such a short time between a search request and the appearance of a search result, but the search engine does it anyway. Search engines consider high page ranking factors to be those pages that have many high-quality links. It is believed that high search ranking factors are those web pages that have many incoming links. These links come from many sites with relevant content and also contain search keywords in the text links.
