In November 2007, my Taobao store - Mini Bar (http://shop35106135.taobao.com) opened. In the same month, my store sold the first product - computer headphones. In January 2009, my seller credit rose to 3 hearts. As a part-time seller, I feel a little relieved to be able to achieve 3 points after opening the store for more than a year. Recently I have been thinking about writing down my experiences and sharing them with everyone.
1. Study online with an open mind. When I first opened the store, I knew almost nothing about opening an online store. Although I had registered an account on Taobao for my classmates before, I had never purchased anything. Over the past year, I have been reading some tutorials and sellers’ experience posts in the Taobao community when I have free time. Over time, I have become obsessed with the Taobao community and often visit here. Taobao is really like a university, there are so many things to learn.
2. Everything starts from the basics. After opening the store, I searched for the source of goods myself. I found some idle items around that I thought were of value to others to sell, as well as items bought by friends on the street. I took photos, processed photos, and wrote profiles with my friends. Before opening a store, think of a store name and a store logo.
3. Keep Wangwang online frequently. Because I work in web design, I have many opportunities to surf the Internet. I put up Wangwang as soon as I turn on my computer every day. I can respond promptly to any customer inquiries. I also activated Wangwang Mobile, so I can receive offline messages even when I’m not online.
4. Promote it everywhere. After opening your store, remember to promote your online store online and offline at all times. Only by letting more people know about it and more people visiting can people buy it. Online promotion is mainly on Taobao. I often post in the community, reply to posts, and participate in some activities organized by Taobao; secondly, I exchange links with other stores and collect each other; and I also post on my blog, website, QQ and its space. Publicity. Offline, I met acquaintances around me and told them that I had opened a store on Taobao, what I was selling, and asked them to write down the website address. If they or their friends needed it in the future, I could offer discounts. My first baby was sold to a former netizen.
5. Continuously adjust and improve. Sellers on Taobao may want to know what sells best, but customer needs are constantly changing. Just because something sells well at this time does not mean it will sell well at that time. It is important to make decisions based on customer needs, fashion trends and your own actual situation. It can be said that there is no best seller, only better sellers, which requires you to pay attention and be good at thinking. I have successively done phone recharge, cosmetics, clothes, Internet products, second-hand books, shop decoration, etc.
6. Have confidence and enthusiasm. When you open a store on Taobao, your things may not be sold quickly, so you have to have confidence in yourself and your baby, and if you stick to it, you will always gain something. When doing business, it is inevitable that there will be people who only consult but do not buy. I warmly receive them every time and patiently answer every question they raise. In addition, I sometimes see questions posted by others on the Taobao community and often reply. Helping others now is equivalent to paving the way for myself in the future.
The above is my main experience and understanding. I hope this post can be helpful to everyone, and I also hope to make progress together with everyone. Thank you for your support! In 2009, we will continue to open stores on Taobao to make money!
