I can be considered a super internet bug. I have been online for more than ten years since I started surfing the Internet in 1999. Judging from the experience of these ten years, I also made several websites by myself, but in the end, none of them persisted and all disappeared. Until now, I have never understood what a webmaster does, what he wants to do, and how to do it? The final result of such a goalless website can be imagined.
When it came to building a website, I had never positioned myself as a webmaster well at that time. It was purely out of curiosity, showing off, and decoration. It was not for making money but for surviving on the website. At that time, it was just to pass the free time and treat people like me People gather together to chat and make friends. But now I see the rise of many unknown websites at that time, which makes me feel that websites can not only become bigger and stronger, but also achieve great success. Looking back on the path I have taken over the past ten years, combined with my own website building experience, I would like to talk about my failures in website building:
1. Wrong direction: Once you choose a website, don’t change it lightly. I have built several websites before. At first I thought this type of website was good, so I focused on this direction, worked hard for a few days, and then went online. Unexpectedly, a few days later, I would find another project that was also good. Then do another station. If this continues for a long time, a person's energy is limited after all. It can be imagined how valuable the website is? Therefore, you must choose a good direction at the beginning of building the website. Once the positioning is made, be sure not to modify it. Work hard and I believe there will be rewards. . Now I have built a resource type website called "Free Home http://www.mfzj.net". It has been online for more than 4 months. At the beginning of building the website, I referred to many websites of the same type. I have not changed it since I selected it. , So far, the keyword "Free Home" ranks tenth and second in Baidu and Google respectively.
2. Domain name selection: At the beginning, I chose the domain name because it was cheaper. I bought the .cn domain name. Later, I felt that the cn domain name did not have as much weight as the com/net domain name and was slower to be included, so I changed it to the com domain name. Think about it, search engines have included a lot of website pages before the cn domain name. Once the domain name is changed, no matter what domain name it is, it will not be crawled by search engines in a short period of time. Moreover, Baidu and Google have increased their efforts to review the inclusion of new sites. , it is impossible to include thousands of pages in just a few days or months.
3. Content positioning: At the beginning of building a website, for the sake of convenience, people will use collectors such as Locomotive to collect a large amount of repeated information. Therefore, when search engines first include your site, they will position it as a spam site. This is useless. It is unrealistic for a featured site to bring a lot of traffic through search engines. At this time, we manually edit our content, preferring to go slower and take some time, but the website that comes out looks very professional, at least the content feels different.
4. Update frequency: The most important thing about the quality of a website is its content and original update frequency. No matter how good a website is, if it does not update some original content for a long time, it will be abandoned by search engines and users. . At that time, I only knew how to build a website, and then compare what kind of website I built and how much traffic it had with other people of the same type. I didn’t worry about updating the content at all. “Three days of fishing, two days of surfing the Internet.” Even if such a website accumulates some users, they will slowly leave because there is no content update.
So the above are my personal thoughts on the failures of website building. I just want to talk about how to build a website and how to position it. Once a direction is determined, you should stick to it. You can build many websites, but the prerequisite is that one website should start making money. When the profit reaches the expected goal, you can then go on to build another website of a different type. More professional webmasters will build different types of websites. Even if the traffic of a website decreases or is deleted, or problems arise, it will not affect the webmaster's income and the website can be maintained as usual. After having this idea, I maintain my own website every day. Although I have just started working on my own website, I think as long as I persist, I will still achieve results.
