It is hard to imagine how many personal homepages there are now, and how many people are eager to have their own main page - surfing the Internet is like diving into the ocean of personal homepages - too many to count!
I am engaged in graphic design, but I have never made a personal homepage. Although I am familiar with FrontPage and "Dreamweaver", there are three reasons: firstly, I have no time and energy, and secondly, there are too many main topics, and I am not interested in participating. The third reason is that the current homepage is too "sloppy" and makes people upset. I don't want to "fall". I have been surfing the Internet for a long time. I have read a lot of websites and personal homepages. After summarizing my personal thoughts and adding the opinions of my friends, I have come up with the following suggestions. I hope it can be of some help to friends who are willing to create web pages. .
1. Clear organization
Homepage design is not difficult: like all graphic design works, don’t make the audience dizzy! In other words, you must have the main information you need to convey so that people can understand the main content of the homepage in a short period of time. The function of the homepage is like the cover of a book or the packaging of a product, which is to attract viewers to watch the content inside. Therefore, the design of the homepage should be clear and understandable at a glance. Do not let too many unnecessary details on the screen make the screen too complicated. The page should clearly list key points such as the products or services offered, as well as the content of the homepage. Like all graphic works, the first impression given by the page is extremely important. If it cannot attract the audience in the first time, it will be difficult for him to stop and read the content in depth.
2. Think more about your guests
Once a viewer opens the link to your homepage, he or she becomes your guest. Of course, your homepage shouldn't be too rude: most of your guests nowadays use modems to access the Internet, so they generally have to wait for a long time for the page to download. The feeling at this time is called... it is called wanting to see through it! Therefore, the homepage should not be too big (the larger it is, the slower the download speed will be). Generally, text is transmitted faster, while images are relatively slower, and the larger and darker the image, the longer it takes to transmit the page. If it takes longer than twenty seconds to load, your guests may become angry or even walk away.
Don’t just pursue results, speed is also important. It is best to have no more than twelve colors, and the top image should be kept under 10KB. Don’t use too big an image, just one or two short and sweet ones. When making web pages, you must consider the transmission speed of the web page. It is best to try the transmission speed under slightly worse conditions first.
In addition, don't imagine the guest's computer to be too high-end. It's possible that his monitor simply can't meet your requirements, or he doesn't have some advanced browsing software at all, and many guests prefer not to download pictures, so you should imagine that the homepage is running effects under these circumstances and take appropriate measures.
Think more about your guest and he will be happy to be your guest again.
3. The page structure is exquisite
Regardless of the content of the homepage, if you want to attract viewers in the first place, the quality of the page design is an important factor. The biggest advantage of the Internet is its multimedia capabilities, so you must be good at taking advantage of these advantages. Reasonable layout design, exquisite composition, eye-catching images, novel pictures, and beautiful fonts can all be unforgettable.
Pictures are a supplement to words and can make up for the shortcomings of words, but they cannot completely replace words. Therefore, the content of the image should be combined with the text content, and should not be frivolous or exaggerated. It should have "considerable connotation within the beautiful appearance." In pursuit of speed, many viewers will set their browsing software to ignore images. Therefore, when making a homepage, you must consider the page effect after the page lacks images. If necessary, the information expressed by the image or the instructions to connect other pages can be repeated once in text. Once you've finished creating it, be sure to test it in plain text mode to make sure it's still well composed and the message is fully conveyed.
4. Don’t make the audience too miserable
Don’t make your audience work too hard to find what they need. Personal homepages usually do not have navigation pages, so the homepage takes on the important task of navigation. The main links should be pointed out on the homepage. Based on clarity and speed, link items should be limited to a few high-level categories, such as companies, Products, services, support, etc. The information you provide should not be buried behind overlapping links. Too many links waste too much of your audience’s time and are annoying. Therefore, it is best to allow the audience to find the main information you provide in a short period of time.
Don’t make the page too long. Your audience won’t mind a slight drag on the slider, but you can’t make the page too long because of that.
Feel free to provide a necessary back link. The audience will not be as familiar with your homepage as you are. If he goes to a place and doesn't know how to get out, then he can only choose to "close". It's too simple, it won't open again after it's closed.
5. Update content frequently
The world is changing, and the world is developing... (Bullshit!)
You don’t want your audience to memorize the content on your homepage, right? Moreover, they are not willing to repeat the same content several times. If your homepage never changes, they will soon get bored, and the direct consequence will be... traffic volume Drop! You can periodically change the image on your homepage or change the style of your homepage. The home page can be changed frequently to provide information. You can also provide a page to store new information.
Update the content frequently and the traffic will be maintained for a long time.
6. Never break your promise
When I go online, I am extremely afraid of filling out forms. After filling out the form, I am afraid of waiting. After waiting for some time, I am also afraid that the other party will not be able to fulfill it...
In fact, no matter in real life or in the virtual life of the Internet, people hate people who often break their promises. If you break your promise, he may not trouble you, but he will never visit your homepage again.
Don't lie to the audience, it's like a certain homepage that promised to launch something when, but I ran to take a look, and there was nothing there, and they said that something couldn't be done for some reason... I almost got so angry. Vomiting blood, farewell from now on!
If it is not really necessary, it is best not to say anything about the recent launch. Audiences generally do not like to hear this type of talk. If the time cannot be given accurately, it is best not to mention it.
So, if you can’t do it, don’t promise easily.
The above are some of my suggestions for friends who are willing to create homepages. Due to space limitations, I can only briefly discuss them. Please forgive me for any inaccuracies.
