Yasuo hasn't quite recovered from the mid-season update that removed Immortal Shield Bow as a viable early game item. The League of Legends team continues to give him enough durability to survive early and mid-game fights without having to rely on Blade of the Ruined King or Dance of Death, which are core to his ability to use critical strikes. Smite and Ultimate Summons Currently, Smite has two damage amounts: one for heroes, and one for everything else. Unfortunately for pet heroes like Annie and Ivern, "everything else" includes pets that should live long enough to be useful. Punishing everything but removing a hero's ultimate is pretty unfair. Furthermore, the League of Legends team does not believe that "having unique and amazing abilities against summoners" is a necessary strength for junglers. The League of Legends team has chosen to keep Smite's interactions with pets the same as Smite's interactions with petted heroes: low damage, and slowdowns when leveled up.
For ultimate pets themselves, there are several goals: First, by weakening the restraints Smite has on them, and to compensate, they need to lose some overall durability. These changes amount to approximately a 5-10% reduction in average durability across the entire game. The second goal is to make ultimate pet health more consistent. At level 6, the durability of these pets is too high in 1v1, but there is no improvement in group play at level 9 or 10. By switching their durability to be based on hero level rather than ultimate skill level, these imperfections can be smoothed out. Finally, the League of Legends team has removed some ability power benefits from pet durability. While this buff helps refine your pet's durability, it's important that your ultimate pet's durability and functionality have a solid baseline. On the other hand, it makes sense for their offensive capabilities to benefit from gold income and skill level.
