For decades, fans have been returning to the wizarding world of Harry Potter faster than you can wave a wand. Many people have watched the Harry Potter films countless times and can recite every line. They are experts on every spell, magical creature, and character. Whatever their reasons for loving Harry Potter, they can't deny that there are some head-scratching plot holes.
The movie avoids some important or unimportant details, and the books don't always help explain things. Even some of the most dedicated Harry Potter fans can't explain the inner workings of certain magical items, spells, characters or plot points.
Harry's journey with the Horcruxes begins once he learns that Voldemort split his soul into seven pieces. However, Harry discovered at the last moment that he was a Horcrux that Voldemort never wanted to create. When Voldemort allowed Nagini to kill Snape, Snape passed his memories to Harry before he died, revealing Harry's true nature.
But when will Snape tell Harry that he is a Horcrux? If Harry, Ron and Hermione hadn't gone to the docks, they wouldn't have had the Potion Master's memories. The three men destroyed seven Horcruxes, only to discover that Voldemort was still alive.
The Sword of Gryffindor appears in the hood, when Harry needs it most when fighting the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. Later, Harry realized that he had soaked the sword with the snake's venom when he killed it, thus having the weapon to destroy the Horcruxes.
In "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1)", thanks to Dumbledore's ingenious plan to hide the sword, Harry got the sword back. The Headmaster's portrait asked Snape to give it to Harry, who found it at the bottom of a frozen pond. Somehow, despite being a Horcrux, Harry can still touch the sword (although he doesn't know it yet). Of course, Harry had some reaction when he touched it.
Entering the Chamber of Secrets was not easy for Harry and Ron. They fell into the hole under the girl's bathroom sink. After Harry killed the basilisk, Fawkes, who could lift huge weights with his tail, brought Harry, Ron, Ginny and Lockhart back from the abyss.
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, Ron and Hermione seem to have easy access to the Chamber of Secrets. They then kill the Horcruxes in Hufflepuff's cup and return to the battlefield. But how did they get up? Fox was already gone and couldn't help. They may have used a broomstick from the Room of Requirement.
Fans met Cho Chang in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, a fifth-year student who dated Cedric Diggory. The following year, she joined Team Dumbledore and began a romantic relationship with Harry. In the movie, Professor Umbridge uses Veritaserum to learn where the DA is hiding. Her relationship with Harry was never the same again.
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Cho Chang graduates from Hogwarts. So why was she still in school when the Battle of Hogwarts began? She was in uniform, so she wasn't there to help the school like the rest of the Order. Maybe Cho Chang never left Hogwarts, or chose to stay another year to look after her friends.
In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry discovers a murderer escaping from Azkaban. Arthur Weasley didn't hide it, telling him he was in danger. Sirius Black, one of Voldemort's most loyal servants, escaped from prison to find and kill Voldemort.
In the film's climax, Sirius' motivations become clearer. However, why Sirius chose to stay in Azkaban for so long is unclear. Die-hard fans of the movies and books know that Sirius escaped from prison by assuming the form of an Animagus. The Animagus is a giant black dog that many people confuse with the ominous presence of the wizarding world. If it was so easy, why didn't he do it earlier?
One of the most important magical items in Harry Potter is the Marauder's Map. Harry's father James and his friends Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, also known as Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, created it while they were at school. However, all the movie tells us is that Fred and George stole it from Filch.
The Weasley twin brothers gave Harry the map, asked him to enter Hogsmeade Village, and told him that the key phrase to open the map was: "I solemnly swear that I have done something bad." But how did the twins Do you know? Maybe there's a spell on it to identify other mischievous wizards.
Most villains have henchmen because they need someone to do their job for them. Voldemort's Death Eaters were more than just lackeys, they were his army of disciples who fought against Mudbloods, Muggles, and Muggle sympathizers.
However, like most villains, Voldemort was incredibly paranoid about being betrayed or tricked. So why didn't he make all Death Eaters take the Unbreakable Vow? Does he believe that ruling in fear will make everyone follow the rules? He couldn't trust everyone. The Unbreakable Vow prevented someone like Snape from becoming a double agent.
Bellatrix and the other Death Eaters didn't have to turn into a black dog or drink Polyjuice Potion to escape Azkaban. Voldemort was powerful enough to get them out, or at least break the wall that kept them inside. But how did they get their wands back?
This doesn't seem like a big detail that needs explaining, but it's confusing. Maybe if Bellatrix and the others had not gotten their wands back, but had been given new ones, they wouldn't have been as powerful the night Dumbledore died.
The Thestral is a horse with bones and wings. Only a wizard who has seen death can see it. Harry first met them in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and he witnessed the death of Cedric Diggory in Goblet of Fire. But why couldn't he see them before Cedric died?
Harry was still a baby when Voldemort killed his parents in front of Harry. Maybe the tragic event didn't trigger it because he didn't know what was happening. But that doesn't explain Professor Quirrell's death. Harry himself turned him into ashes. Regardless, the magic behind the Thestrals remains unexplained.
In "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1)", the Order of the Phoenix came to Privet Drive and took Harry to the den. Senior members of the Order believed they could safely transfer Harry by turning seven members of the Order into Harry using Polyjuice Potion. They thought it would confuse Voldemort and the Death Eaters.
This plan doesn't work. All seven members were ambushed because someone betrayed them. So why didn't they make Harry a Muggle? If an underage wizard uses magic, the Ministry of Magic's tracking spell will not be activated, and Voldemort and the Death Eaters will not know about it. When you know a bunch of bad guys are after you, why would you try to escape with your own identity?
