The story of the Church in the Dark game is not completely fabricated. Paranoid Productions was probably inspired by the largest mass suicide incident in American history that year to come up with such a meaningful work.
Church in the dark game background
No one is forced into the Order. The Order welcomes you and understands you. It embraces you until the words of the leader transcend the truth. You become whole because of it.
In the late 1970s, the charismatic Isaac and Rebecca Walker led the Collective Justice Mission. Labeled as extremists by the U.S. government and feeling persecuted, they led their followers to the jungles of South America, believing that only here could they build a utopia. So, they built Freetown. However, the believers' families in the United States began to worry. What is happening in this small town in the jungle?
In the game you play as ex-cop Vic. You will sneak into Freetown to check on your nephew Alex. Whether you choose to evade or fight, you must delve into the town, uncover its secrets, and find your nephew before the situation changes.
