This repository is intended to do whatever it takes to ensure that the Windows GIS software MANDARA10, which was continuously developed by Kenji Tani, continues to operate smoothly and be widely used.
[How to use new files]
First, let's assume that the MANDARA10.0.1.6 system provided by ktgis.net has been successfully installed on Windows.
I am uploading MANDARA10.zip, which is a zipped version of the new MANDARA10.exe provided in this repository, to this repository. Download MANDARA10.zip to an appropriate folder on your Windows and unzip it.
Replace the MANDARA10.exe that appears after unzipping with the MANDARA10.exe located in C:Program Files (x86)MANDARA10. As a precaution, we recommend renaming the original file to something like MANDARA10org.exe. During a series of operations, you may be asked to confirm administrator privileges for security reasons, or you may need to check "Allow" for security items in the file properties.
The replaced version of MANDARA remains 10.0.1.6, with no changes.
[Publishing the expanded source code]
We will release the source code with the error correction and rebuild work described below. The source code for this project is MANDARA10SourceCode10016.zip provided by Kenji Tani on ktgis.net. Expand it, there will be no compilation errors (though many warnings remain), and you will be able to create a MANDARA10.exe file. This has been modified to keep the changes to a minimum.
(Notes on this source code) This source code has been developed based on Kenji Tani's description that it "operates with Microsoft Visual Basic 2013 and .NET Framework 4.5." Microsoft will end support for .NET Framework 4.5 on April 26, 2022. After support ends, there will be no security support or bug fixes. When rebuilding this source code, we changed to .NET Framework 4.8.
Also, the screen design of this source code depends on Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.Vs. As of March 2024, Microsoft does not recommend the use of this package, and official distribution has been suspended. Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.Vs cannot be installed in Visual Studio 2022, so the screen design of this source code cannot be edited or changed in Visual Studio 2022.
[Latest work background]
Due to changes in the Geographical Survey Institute map system provided by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan in June 2023, a situation has arisen in which MANDARA 10 on Windows cannot be used with the Geographical Survey Institute map in the background. Mr. Kenji Tani left the program source information written in Visual Basic, so the project manager (Kazunari Hori) urgently used Visaul Studio 2022 to fix the error and rebuild it. Ta. We have confirmed that the file after rebuilding allows us to use the Geographical Survey Institute map again as a background image such as a blank map.
[Providing maps and usage samples for Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture on January 1, 2024]
On January 1, 2024, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture merged to become a city consisting of three wards. Professor Yasuko Nakamura of Tokyo Gakugei University worked on changing the map data of the Japanese map to correspond to this. Please send the data to the project administrator (Hori) and give us permission to publish it in this project. The NewMAP folder of this project contains a file named Japan Municipality Latitude and Longitude 2024v2.mpfz. You can use it by copying it to the DocumentMANDARA10MAP folder on your PC. As an example using this map, the original Excel, csv file and the created map image png file are placed in the NewSAMPLE folder. Please refer to it.
(Attention! The incomplete revised map data posted by the administrator (Hori) in early April 2024 has been deleted. If you have already downloaded it, please delete it. Once again, Japanese municipalities latitude and longitude 2024v2.mpfz )
