This book systematically introduces the basic principles, algorithms and international standards of still image and video sequence coding, divided into two relatively independent parts. The first part introduces various basic technologies that constitute image encoders, including entropy coding, quantization, prediction, transformation, motion compensation prediction, etc., which are the core technologies that constitute most international standards for image coding. Chapter 4 summarizes various Main features of image coding standards. The second part is dedicated to the discussion of wavelet transform coding technology.
