Digital photography has penetrated deeply into modern life, and it has become very easy to modify photos. Some friends tend to use fool-proof photo editing software, hoping to beautify photos in the shortest possible time. They think Photoshop is a very complex and difficult to operate software. Is this really the case? Today we will use an example to learn about Photoshop’s quick modification techniques. Through this example, you can learn how to use composite composition, masks, brushes, and shortcut keys.
First, send out the exercise file and thank the photographer Mr. Zhao Hang for taking the material for this example.
Model: Zizi 85mm/F1.4D Aperture F1.8 ISO 200 Shutter: 1/1000 second reflector fill light
The photos are beautifully shot, both in terms of lighting and model performance. The modification we need to do is to change the composition of the photo to make the model more closely connected with the scene. The model's line of sight is a very important element. If we change her to face the left, it can echo the leaves and the photo will be more artistic.
Use Photoshop to open the material image. The first step is to copy a new layer with the left and right opposite to the original image.
Press Ctrl+J, the original image is copied as a new layer, use the menu "Edit → Transform → Flip Horizontal" to get the new layer as shown in Figure 2. This step takes about 4 seconds.
In the second step, press the Ctrl key to temporarily switch to the move tool, pull the new layer to the right, and place the main character at the golden section while covering the underlying portrait. Click the third button "Add Mask" below the layer panel to add a mask to the layer. This step takes about 2 seconds.
The third step is to press the D key to set the foreground color and background color to white and black respectively. Press the X key to swap the foreground color and background color, so that we set the foreground color to black. Press the B key to convert the current tool into a brush, and paint on the obvious edges of the image on the mask. You can rub the edges to be translucent, and the upper and lower layers blend together well. Our modification work is over, as shown in Figure 4. This step works for 4 seconds to solve the problem. Finally, press Ctrl+Shift+S to save the image as JPG format. If you want to make in-depth modifications later, you can use Ctrl+S to save it as a PSD document. Although the file is a bit larger, the image quality is not lost.
If the brush size is not set properly, you can use the shortcut keys "[" and "]" to change the brush size. If the brush is stiff, you can use the shortcut key Shift+"[" to soften the brush. Conversely, Shift+"]" makes the brush harder. Using this method, you can set the brush tip to the size and softness you need in a very short time.
If you accidentally expose the lower part of the character during the wiping process, you can press the X key to switch the foreground color to white, wipe the damaged part, and then wipe it back again, similar to the reverse tool of an eraser.
There are a few points that you must pay attention to when operating this type of instance:
One is the direction, intensity, and color of the light source. The relationship between the light source of the modified subject and the background cannot have large errors.
The second is the perspective relationship. To make the synthetic examples real and credible, the focus should be on perspective.
The third is front-to-back fusion. The fusion skills of synthetic examples are very easy to learn, but many friends stumble on this. The reason is that the fusion point was not selected well. Don't choose the edges for blending, as it will become more and more fake. The best way to blend is to choose a large area of solid color and use a soft brush to rub it on the mask, such as the skin of a human face.
Modifying an image requires thinking and trying. The 10 seconds mentioned in this example are the time required to specifically operate the software. Mastering shortcut keys can double our work efficiency. When you are familiar with Photoshop, you will find that this software is so simple and so powerful. Applicable people are very wide.
