Hello everyone, I am the webmaster of Henan Oilfield Network. What I want to talk about today is Empire CMS. I haven’t paid attention to dede and phpcms for a long time. Today I saw some novice webmasters on the Internet asking which PHP open source whole-site system is good for building a website. I found that many conclusions are not quite correct, so I will share my views on these three software based on my experience in using these open source software. Of course, I mainly use Imperial CMS more often. This may not be completely correct, but it can be used as a reference for novices.
Let’s talk about Empire CMS first. My main focus is now on Empire CMS. I have been playing Empire for a year or two, and I know a lot about the functions of Empire CMS. The outstanding advantage of Empire CMS is that it is very flexible to customize the system model. This is the essence of Empire CMS. As a webmaster, I believe that most people agree with me.
So, does this mean that phpmcs and dedecms are deficient in custom models?
I am not an experienced user of dede and phpcms, so it is not convenient for me to comment in depth. But from the perspective of Empire CMS, Empire’s custom models are very good. It can accommodate many system expansions. For example, if you want to make a tourism system, you need to define many tourism fields, such as address, consumer price, Google map positioning, per capita consumption, etc. It only takes a few minutes to use Empire to do it. We can also customize Imperial CMS as a daily technical management system for webmasters to use, and store various technical materials we commonly use on this machine in categories for reference during development.
Of course, Empire also has its disadvantages, that is, it is difficult for novice webmasters. This is often the case with technology. The more flexible the system, the more difficult it is to master. Empire CMS falls into this category. However, this is not a problem for experienced empire cms users. Once you are familiar with it and are proficient in various functions, there will naturally be no entry-level difficulty. For example, in the recent development of the Henan Oilfield Network, I plan to use Imperial CMS as the core to develop various excellent Internet applications. For example, classified information (with combined search and filter conditions), online movie system, online music listening system, travel system, food system, health channel, business yellow pages, picture channel, etc. In addition, these channels, forums and SNS must be combined to become a comprehensive local portal system oriented to web2.0.
Naturally, Imperial CMS is adequate for these functions.
Having said all this, I am talking about how good Imperial CMS is. Indeed, the flexibility of the system is the biggest advantage of Imperial CMS. But this does not mean that Imperial CMS is invincible. Look at our dedecms and phpcms, as well as php168, which claims to be the boss, they all have different advantages.
dedecms is easy to use, the default template is beautiful, and the search optimization is also done very well.
phpcms has a yellow pages system.
php168 has developed relatively steadily, and its classified information system is doing pretty well.
The weaknesses of Empire CMS, such as the lack of multi-level linkage menus, give many webmasters headaches. And this point, dedecms has already done very well.
As a loyal user of Empire, I still develop around Empire. The Henan Oilfield Network in hand now is intended to be used as a sample website of Imperial CMS. I hope that like-minded friends will come and watch it and provide various guidance!
