Microsoft is preparing to test the first major upgrade to its latest generation of Windows clients. As usual, Microsoft will release the first service pack (Service Pack) one year after the development of a new version of the Windows operating system is completed. Currently, Microsoft is preparing to release Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. A third-party news website reported that Microsoft has begun preparing to launch the first external beta version of Windows 7 SP1.
According to the WithinWindows website, Microsoft will launch Windows 7 SP1 Beta in accordance with the release practice of Beta version service packs. Therefore, Microsoft will begin testing various versions of the Windows 7 operating system to identify the version suitable for testing Windows 7 SP1 Beta.
As of press time, Microsoft officials have not confirmed that Windows 7 SP1 Beta has been released to external testers.
It is reported that Microsoft officially completed the development of Windows 7 at the end of July last year. On July 22, 2009, Windows 7 RTM and Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM were officially released. Therefore, Microsoft had already started developing Windows 7 SP1 before October 22, 2009.
