Beijing time on March 5th news recently, Microsoft is preparing a more stable transition version for the first Beta version of Windows7, but so far no official details about the first major update of Windows7 have been seen. However, the latest news from the Russian website Wzor.net also shows that Windows 7 SP1 is still in the Pre-Beta stage, and it will take at least about a month and a half to see the complete Beta version, which will be released as early as mid-April.
From January 11 to March 2, Microsoft compiled a total of at least 35 Windows 7 SP1, an average of 0.7 per day, an astonishing speed. The two latest version numbers released this month are 7601.16517.100301-1718 and 7601.16518.100302-1530. They were compiled on March 1 and 2 respectively, and both belong to the winmain_sp branch. In the above version string, 7601 represents the major compilation version (Windows7 RTM is 7600), 16518 is the minor version, and 100302-1530 represents the compilation time: 3:30 pm on March 2, 2010.
Wzor.net claims that it can release any Windows 7 SP1 that Microsoft has compiled so far, but there is no point in doing so, so let's wait until the Beta stage.
