Linux operating system manufacturer RedHat recently released the RedHat Linux Enterprise Edition 5.5 (RHEL5.5) operating system, which can well support the latest multi-core server processors released by Intel/AMD. The launch of this operating system coincides with the release of Intel's Xeon 7500 series Nehalem-EX processors. It can well meet the needs of users who need to run virtualization/cloud computing deployment/high-performance computing and other applications on the Linux operating system.
An Intel executive with an impossibly long official name said that with the collaborative efforts of Intel and Red Hat, users can take advantage of the new version of RHEL5.5 system, a "high-performance, high-scalability and high-reliability entity/ Virtualization platform" to build its own "future-oriented data center."
RHEL 5.5 also supports the new AMD Opteron6100 series Magny-Cours servers. An AMD spokesperson said this product update will provide customers with higher performance and lower power consumption products, and can also reduce the cost of system platforms.
Dell, another manufacturer involved in server products, also issued a positive statement for the release of RHEL 5.5. In the statement, they used server products such as "robust", "capable of completing mission-critical tasks" and "industrial-grade standards". Essential vocabulary for soft articles.
RHEL5.5 is the fourth update since the release of RHEL 5, which was first launched in September last year. The new version also enhances the ability to work together with models equipped with Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
