Game review : This game is not extremely difficult for players. You can form a team including tank, samurai, ranged and magician at the beginning. This does not mean that the game experience will be extremely easy, but such a balanced team allows junior players to have the opportunity to try the game's professions, etc., providing a basis for playing again in the future. Of course, my biggest memory of the game a month later was trying out different team combinations, because the game's story wasn't very deep.
Although the game is filled with fallen angels and epic battles, it's really just about a group of people's journey to fame. This sharp contrast will become more and more obvious in the game, because the tasks are very simple, such as simply helping the master transport the ashes, etc., but you can encounter a large number of strange enemies on the road. The success of this method is that the player's actions do not have an impact on the game world. It is different from the "Mass Effect" series in which the fate of the universe is in the hands of the protagonist, but he travels through the universe leisurely.
The focus of the game is combat, which is different from other RPGs that focus on story. Players may face a very severe challenge when they encounter the first spider. This spider has super high attack power and will spray poison on the entire team. The poison can only be dispelled by the antidote dropped after defeating the spider. Most of the time, enemies will attack in groups, spraying poison at you at any time, and will get an attack opportunity after each dodge. The first few hours of the game progress very slowly, especially since you have to keep returning to town to resupply and rest. And this is just an adventure mode that is friendly to junior players. Players will face greater challenges in warrior mode.
All of this may ruin the gaming experience for some players, but game developers usually give players the skills they need to succeed. Players can rely on the grid system to conduct tactical combat, such as luring enemies into a narrow passage and then using area magic to kill them. The game also adds some other varied gameplay methods, such as solving puzzles to discover secret passages. The game does not advocate mindless hacking. On the contrary, the game advocates smart gameplay, such as using the mage's air magic to repel an enemy next to a dying teammate, or cleverly allocating skills so that the mage can also heal. Even warriors get their own abilities, allowing them to taunt enemies or deflect attacks to protect relatively vulnerable teammates. These methods can be useful, especially since the game's dungeons are designed with this style of play in mind.
However, the same approach doesn't work very well in the outside world. The game may look like a modern open world game, but it forces you to move like a robot. Movement that is very useful in dungeons becomes very tedious while exploring. You may think that the orcs in the distance have entered the range of the mage, but the game tells you that the orcs are actually still far away. Think your archer has a good line of sight? But a small rock in the target and in the archer's hand is blocking his view. This design might be better if most of the battles in the game were not in the wild, but in fact, this design makes finding prayer fountains or hidden treasure chests a pain.
Its square map and basically reliable turn-based combat give players who are accustomed to modern plot-based RPGs a change of taste. The game doesn't succeed in open world exploration, and the overall gameplay experience suffers from optimization. But as an old-style RPG, "Might and Magic 10: Legacy" is still difficult, and it does not hesitate to punish players for mistakes they make in battle.
