First of all, let me explain. The original title was called Stop updating from snapshot to see Baidu’s review of the new site, but what I am explaining is not the new site, so the sites in the title include (new site and old site).
My website has not updated snapshots for nearly 5 months. Because my mentality is relatively calm, I am not in a hurry and have been doing some experiments and observations on my website. My website was created at the end of April this year. Because it is an old domain name, traffic started to flow not long after the website was established, and the number of entries increased very quickly. I remember that in less than a month, the number of entries had reached 10,000, and the number of IP addresses had also increased to more than 300. , are all Baidu pure search IPs.
Seeing this phenomenon made me not take good care of it. In the next month, which was the second month of building the website, I almost did not update it or do any external link work. Therefore, the collection stopped growing in June. The snapshot stopped updating on July 8 this year. In the next nearly five months, the snapshot was not updated again, and the collection dropped all the way, from more than 10,000 to a minimum of 5,000. many.
But there is a very strange phenomenon, that is, IP has always been very stable, and many long tails are ranked first. The IP is stable at 300-500 a day, and the fluctuations are within this range. This phenomenon aroused my interest, so in mid-September I changed the title of the website. Of course, the snapshot was still not updated, and there was no penalty from search engines for changing the title. Someone told me that when the snapshots are not updated, it is because I have not kept up with the external links, but I don’t think so, because I have worked on many websites, and even for sites that are never updated, the snapshots will take a few months and occasionally miss you more. Once. So I re-selected several target keywords for external link optimization. The optimization method is also very simple, which is to sign the forum reply.
Before I knew it, all the keywords came to the homepage (I chose simple keywords), and there were no keywords in the title. So I made a guess about this phenomenon. This should be because Baidu put my website into a sandbox and re-examined it. Therefore, it did not update the snapshot of my homepage and deleted the included pages of my website. However, it did not update the website. Weights do not move down or up. Of course, most of this is because of the old domain name.
So far I have come to the conclusion: no matter how old the domain name is, once Baidu thinks that you have performed irregular operations on the website (such as over-optimization, not updating for a long time, not taking care of it), no matter how high the original weight is, once Baidu triggers Baidu's review of the new site As for the review mechanism, Baidu will also re-review high-authority websites with old domain names. The review methods are snapshot suspension and re-review of included pages.
Starting in October, I re-updated the website, and regularly updated and added external links every day. In nearly 10 days at the end of November, I began to increase the release of external links (several times the original). As expected, the snapshot was yesterday renew. However, the rankings of some keywords that have been on the homepage have declined. The reason for this remains to be seen.
