After the operations in the previous parts, our webpage has been illustrated with pictures and text, and has considerable effect, but this is not enough for the webpage. In order for the many webpages in the website to become an organic whole, each webpage must be processed through super Links are connected so that viewers can jump between different pages.
★Link pictures and text
It is very convenient to create links for some text or pictures. Just use the mouse to select the picture or text that needs to be turned into a link, and then enter the target page address to be jumped in the "Link" input box of the properties panel, or press Click the folder icon next to the input box to select the file you want to jump to. In addition, Dreamweaver MX 2004 also provides a way to quickly link files through the website window.
The first step is to run the "Site→Manage Sites" command and select an already created site from the pop-up menu. At this time, you can see the pop-up site management window on the right.
The second step is to select the text or image in the editing area and directly drag the circular target icon next to the "Link" input box in the properties panel. An arrow will appear. When the arrow points to a file in the website manager, A box will appear around the file.
In the third step, after you release the mouse, the selected text will be underlined, the color of the word will turn blue, and the address of the target file will automatically be displayed in the "Link" input box.
Tip: When establishing a link, you need to pay attention to the two ways of URL. 1. Absolute address: such as www. abc. com/test. htm; 2. Relative address: such as download/1. htm, description page 1. htm is in the root directory of the server.
★Set multiple links on one picture
Some web pages have multiple links on a large image, so that visitors can enter different pages by clicking on different positions of the image. This applies the concept of image hot areas. We can refer to the following steps to achieve this.
The first step is to select the image in Dreamweaver MX 2004. At this time, you can see a "Map" area on the image properties panel. There are three light blue tool icons below it, namely rectangle, circle and polygon.
The second step is to select one of them with the mouse as needed, then move the mouse to the image and drag out a light blue area.
The third step is to fill in the web page address that needs to be linked in the "Link" input box in the properties panel, so that an image hot area is ready.
Similarly, by setting multiple image hot areas for this image, you can click on different areas of the image to enter different pages.
★Customize jump links within the page
If you often subscribe to free e-magazines online, or browse very long pages, you should be familiar with this kind of tab link, which uses a directory-like list to easily jump to any part of the page.
The first step is to determine the location of the link in Dreamweaver MX 2004, which is the location where the link will stay after the screen jumps. Then select the target text and run the "Insert→Named Anchor" command.
The second step is to type the label name (such as test3) in the "Anchor name" input box. At this time, an anchor tag will automatically appear under the text to distinguish the ordinary text content.
The third step is to enter the "Link" input box of the property panel. Enter "#test3", where test3 is the name just set, so that the page jump function can be realized.
Tip: If you want to point to a certain location on another page, just put this anchor tag there.
★Quickly check web links
When surfing the Internet, the most annoying thing is to see error messages such as "Web Server error 4004: File Not Found". Since there are a lot of links in a website, a little care will lead to many link errors. However, in Dreamweaver MX 2004, you can easily check the links.
The first step is to run the "Site→Check Links SideWide" command in Dreamweaver MX 2004, which will activate the link check panel.
The second step is to select Broken Links (broken links), Extranal Links (external links), and OrphanedFiles (orphaned files) from the "Show" drop-down menu in the upper left part of the panel. For example, after we select Orphaned Files, Dreamweaver MX 2004 will check the current link status and display a list of orphaned files.
The third step is to directly double-click the left mouse button on the problematic file to open it for modification.
Tip: External links are link addresses that link to external websites, and Dreamweaver cannot check their correctness.
You need to be reminded to be extra careful when establishing links to web pages, because websites usually have hundreds of pages. If you are not careful, it will lead to empty links or wrong links, which is very harmful to your website image. What a good influence!
