The renderings don't look complicated, but the production process is still quite cumbersome. It is necessary to carefully render the highlights and dark parts of each part of the flower. When making, you need to create more layers to facilitate later adjustments.
1. Create a new document of 600 * 800 pixels, select the gradient tool, set the color to lavender, and pull out a radial gradient as the background.
2. Create a new layer and start making flowers from the bottom. To make the flower stem: Use a pen to outline the selection shown in Figure 3 and fill it with dark purple: #461E6C
3. Select the Dodge tool and paint out the highlights on the right edge.
4. Create a new layer, and then create the leaf part. Use a pen to outline the leaf, turn it into a selection and apply the radial gradient shown in Figure 8.
5. Create a new layer, press Ctrl + Alt + G to create a clipping mask, then create a new layer below the current layer, use a pen to outline the dark selection at the bottom of the leaf, feather it by 4 pixels and fill it with dark purple.
6. Create a new layer, use a pen to outline the top highlight selection, feather it by 4 pixels and fill it with blue-purple.
7. Create a new layer, use a pen to outline the dark selection at the top, feather it by 3 pixels and fill it with dark blue.
8. Create a new layer. Use the same method as above to add some highlights to the middle of the leaves and add some shadows to the flowers in the upper right corner.
9. The other leaf can be directly copied to the left one, flipped horizontally, and then adjusted to the correct position. Fine-tune the projection part as needed
10. Now start making the flower part. Before making it, let’s break it down briefly. It is roughly composed of the following three parts.
11. Create a new group, create a new layer in the group, use a pen to outline the bottom selection, and fill it with dark purple.
12. Create a new layer and use the same method to create the dark part of the edge.
13. Create a new group, use a pen to outline the main selection of the flowers, and then add a layer mask to the group.
14. Create a new layer in the group and fill it with lavender
15. Create a new layer and use the same method to render the highlights and dark parts of the flower. You need to control the color yourself.
16. Create a new layer, use a pen to outline the hollow part in the middle of the flower, and fill it with lavender. After deselecting, add a layer mask and erase the transition on the left edge.
17. Create a new layer, press Ctrl + Alt + G to create a clipping mask, then create a new layer below the current layer, and render the shadows and highlights in the same way as above
18. Create a new group, use a pen to outline the selection of the stamens, and add a layer mask to the group.
19. Create a new layer, render the highlights and shadows using the same method as above, and finally fine-tune the details and enhance the color to complete the final effect.
