In the process of web page production, we may encounter a situation where when a large number of our web pages have been completed, we find that they all have a common error that needs to be modified. At this time, it is impossible to completely rely on manual changes. What should I do? Using search and replace in Dreamweaver8 can help you complete modifications quickly and accurately.
Everyone has used the find and replace function of Word and other software. The find and replace function of Dreamweaver8 is similar to the find and replace function of those software, but it is more powerful. You can even control the search process with precise qualifications in its Find and Replace dialog box. We open the "Find and Replace" dialog box through the menu bar-Edit-Find and Replace, or the shortcut key "Ctrl+F", as shown below.
Click the drop-down button of the top "Search Range" item to select the search range, as shown below. There are 6 options. The first option is to search in the selected text, the second option is to search in the currently edited web page document, the third option is to search in all documents currently opened, and the fourth option is to search in the currently edited web page document. Search in the specified folder. If we select this item, a selection box for specifying the folder will appear on the right. Click the folder-shaped button to specify the folder. The fifth item is in the selected file in the site. Search, the sixth item is to search in all the files in the entire site we created.
The "Search" item below is used to select the type of search, as shown below. There are 4 items. The first item refers to the search type of HTML code. The second item is text, which refers to non-HTML code. The third item is text (advanced). Click this item and a dialog box for further selection will appear below. The fourth item means that the search type is the specified tag.
Then enter the content you want to find in the "Find" box below, and enter the content you want to replace in the "Replace" box below.
For example, we can change "dreamweaver" in all web documents to "Dreamweaver8", or we can change all half-width commas "," in the documents to full-width commas "," and so on.
